Thank you for that information. I'll definitely check into that. I'm located in Virginia, so I might have to break down and fly for the first time if I end up there :)
Does anyone know of any reputable online programs for NNP? I'm a NICU nurse thinking about pursuing NNP. I'm also a wife and mom and won't be able to "move out" to attend the program in a classroom setting. However, I do realize most of these NP programs require a visit to the campus several times...which is fine. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!!
I'm a bit nervous about finding a preceptor in my area as well. I'm still researching schools and trying to figure out what I'm going to do. My goal is to become a NNP (Neonatal NP). I was told I could complete FNP and train in a neonatal setting before sitting for boards. Not sure if that's true or not.
Is there anyone out there that is currently in, or has graduated from the MSN-FNP program at Walden University? I'm also thinking about Old Dominion University's program as well. Was just wondering what your thoughts are on these schools or if you have any suggestions and/or experiences to share about where the "best place" is to pursue FNP? Thanks for any help you can offer.
