Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) CRNA Application - 2026
I would definitely aim for adult ICU and get a few years under your belt prior to applying. Sometimes it is difficult to land an adult ICU position right out of school, but that should be your goal. Don't settle on the first job offer because you are worried you won't find the one you really want. The jobs are out there. Once you get settled in your new position, look ahead and take note of CRNA requirements and application dates. When you feel the time is right for you start your journey begin working on the requirements. Time moves fast. Wishing you all the best in your nursing career. Good Luck!

Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) CRNA Application - 2026
Again, everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours. I can assure you I am not feeling emotional because I am exactly where I need to be. Congratulations, I am very happy for you that you found your place at FGCU. I think if you reflect back at earlier posts people come here for information because it is a long process and they can't possibly know everything going on with each school they apply to. There is always someone else that can share their wealth of information about a school that may help another. I just let them know they would not be finding any information as people were asked not to post. I did my fact finding on this program by speaking with current students and alums in private. I think it is wise to speak with as many people as you can about a program before you make a decision as it is both a monetary and time investment. There was always a common denominator of thought and I will leave it at that. I never meant to strike such a nerve by stating my opinion. I am sorry if I did so. Wishing you only the best! Good Luck.

Honored that your first post was quoting mine and you are correct in stating everyone is entitled to their own opinion. As an admin, you know every applicant works hard for years for an opportunity to enter CRNA school. They should not be afraid to share their excitement or discuss their experiences about FGCU or any school before, during, or after the application period. It is not about cooperating, but the fact that they have been injected with a level of fear to speak.

Hi, I can answer that for you. I was told they don't love Portage, but they do accept them. What I will also tell you is from my experience they do not tell everyone the same things across the board. If you ask around to enough people applying, you can get an idea of what I mean. I would call and get a verbal on this, but I would also send an email and get it in writing. Do not chance what I say on this board or anyone else. It is too expensive and time consuming. Good Luck!

That is rough. Just keep watching the thread and living your life. So many people apply to countless schools and there is always movement. Remember you are really close to a spot and closer than everyone else that is just waiting to hear from them. How long ago was your interview? Have you been waiting a long time to hear back from them?

Wow, that will be a long wait. Frustrating is the only thing I can say. So sorry. I don't think it matters how many have accepted a seat. I say that because they will still interview for a while to fill spots. I think what may matter more is who has accepted a seat, but may decline it later in the cycle because they were accepted to another program they prefer. That is where you might move up and grab a spot in the class. I wish you luck!

This is tricky because there have been people accepted with only Gen Chem I, but then other people are being told they need a high-level/grad-level chemistry. Most unis will not allow you to take a grad level chemistry without being accepted to grad school. Then, you have to have at minimum Gen Chem I & II, Orgo I & II, analytical chem, and possibly more courses like calc I & II to even take the grad level chem. There really needs to be some clarity on this because most RNs do not have this type of math/science background from undergrad to even register for grad classes of this intensity.
