I just wanted to share my NCLEX experience. So I passed my first try with 75 questions. I had 29 SATA, and probably 5-8 other speciality questions. I graduated in August 2017 and get I needed a break, well I met putting the test date off. I will tell you HANDS DOWN UWORLD is what prepared me! I scored anywhere from a 40%- 60%, but more and average of about 50 on UWORLD. It has the best rationales and harder questions and I'm so thankful I asked a friend about it. I had started Kaplan and thought the decision tree would help. It that technique wasn't working for air if the UWORLD questions. I would say take about a month to artist UWORLD and then get it out of the way. I'm so relieved but wish I would have taken it earlier!! good luck to all of you out there! Hi all, So I'm finishing up my 3rd semester in nursing school, which included Maternal/newborn and Med/surg 2. I used to think I'd like postpartum because I thought I would like to help mom's breastfeed. Well, now I think it's rather boring and loved L&D. I loved the ED, but it think partly was because I had great teachers and had a lot more autonomy. This is my second career and I don't know if I'd be happier in a more nurturing role such as L&D or the ED? I'm worried that ED might be stressful but my husband said I always came home "excited and satisfied" after the ER rotations. Anither ER issue is that the postpartum/L&D had a lot of pts that had an "entitlement" attitude which seemed different from the ED? Any long-term advice? I loved the L&D rotation and think that's where I should be?

I only work one day a week, but there are several students that do work full-time, but most of those students are military and have medical experience. The clinical hours differ for each class. Both fundamentals and med/surg I have 135 hours per semester. Keep in mind you won't start clinicals right away and the clinical placement isn't guaranteed so you may have to drive to Corpus. I'm in the BSN program (I already have a bachelors in accounting) but it's a 5 semester program consecutively do summers are included. Intense--very, hard--like nothing I've ever done. I thought accounting was hard at Tecas A&M in CS, but nursing is a whole new world, especially learning the critical thinking. So it can be done obviously but it is by no means easy. I live in CS, so I take my end of semester exams at Blinn. You basically need an institution that proctors exams. I'm in my 2nd semester and I'm really looking forward to it. The clinicals were amazing. I learned so much. Good luck to you!

I had an interview via Webex, which I think they require for Eline students. I'm not sure how many applied, but there are 11 including Eline military in our spring 2016 cohort. Good luck, waiting is hard:)

Me too!! I thought I would do better, but the respiratory chapter is the one I found harder. I love the CV chapter. Do you have Dr A? What's you first name btw, I forgot to ask:) i got an email from Candace asking me to forward her the email we received for 2nd rounds. She was trying to answer our WebEx questions. I was out running errands all day song just sent her the email. I need to start studying tonight. Tomorrow a friend and I are taking our kids to Chappell Hill for a Scarecrow festival! Ha, when I saw my email has a post from this forum I knew what you were gonna ask:) I tried calling for about an hour this morning and finally I called the general nursing number. ********* was out sick today;( Poor thing having to answer all of our calls:) Hopefully she'll be in tomorrow.

That's exactly how I feel! Fine with interview, but nervous about writing. I think I'm going to do my writing in the morning and pharmacology test before 5. I live in the country about 5 miles from College Station, so my internet is not reliable. I can't decide if I want to do my WebEx at my MIL house or Blinn College. I think my MIL house will not go down and maybe I won't feel quite as nervous there. I get some pretty good text anxiety. I'm sure we can come up with some good ideas:)

Yes I could not get an interview scheduled either! I called for about 30 minutes and I assumed that either the poor gal went home for the day or that the phone lines were busy í ½í¸³ I guess I'll call first thing Monday morning song with all of the rest of the people who got the email;) how far are you from Corpus?

It's all good!! I got a couple of different answers too, so I started calling Crystal directly:) I wonder if the writing sample will be "why you think you are qualified" or something academic? Good luck to you! Are you taking pharmacology too? We have a test the same day as the written sample:( oh well, time to put it in high gear. Where are you located?
