Hello! I have been practicing questions for the nclex using NCSBN and Kaplan. My question is on medication errors, on one of Kaplan's questions: (SATA) Nurse administers medication. While documenting the administration, the nurse realizes an error in administration. What actions must the nurse take? Correct answers: evaluate the effect of the med, notify the pcp, notify the patient of the error, complete an occurrence report. As I recall (no longer have access to NCSBN), we do not notify the patient if there was a medication error, I also vaguely remember it being on an ATI question during school, to not let the patient know of the medication error. Please correct me if I misunderstood the way medication errors are handled in the "nclex hospital". Thanks for your help I am taking the NCLEX next week! :)
