  1. Don't be nervous it's a lot of fun. You may think that all that information in 16 months is a lot, and it is, but you learn how to manage pretty quickly. You're gonna be doing clinicals at some truly awesome hospitals so take this time to figure out what kind of nurse you want to be. Never say no to an opportunity at clinicals and just try your best. You're probably going to hate patho and pharm but they are literally fact based classes. Don't get overwhelmed like I know a lot of people did. The teachers tell you everything you need to know. That's just some of my advice! It was honestly a very rewarding and fun experience. I wish you the best!
  2. The honors program interview was really a lot like a regular entrance interview I would imagine. For me they didn't require me to do the entrance interview, just the honors one. It was a lot of tell me about yourself and so on. But they do ask about the paper that you wrote to apply for the honors program. So whatever prompt y'all had this year, know it back and forth. It's a very chill interview. They're all very nice! Have some examples to back up your prompt and so on. I think when I went our prompt was about helping the underserved population so I talked about my experiences with that. Good luck!!
  3. I know one of my friends got a call back Friday saying she was hired and that they're officially now giving out offers! I haven't heard anything back personally but I also interviewed for a different unit as her so I guess we will see next week!
  4. I haven't heard anything from Seton and neither has my friend. We're both looking at OB positions so I don't know if it has something to do with that but we also didn't go to the open house so maybe thats why too hahah. But its okay! I applied to all the places in San Antonio so I should be okay! Congratulations on the ER position!! Best of luck to you as well :)
  5. Everyone I've talked to is having/had their in-person interviews this week so in case y'all are doing interviews too I just wanted to say good luck!!
  6. No I think that is a great idea! It definitely sounded wrong that they were no longer taking interviews for the ER or ICU. I think you should definitely try and just see what happens!
  7. Boooo that sucks! So since I applied today for the OB positions i shouldn't really hold my breath for an interview?? They're still doing phone interviews too hahah how pointless
  8. Thats bizarre? So it wasn't someone calling about your application to a unit? When I talked to the lady during the phone interview she said that whatever unit you apply to, if they like your application, will contact you directly for an interview. How irritating. I'm sorry :/
  9. I just applied today since I had to wait for the lady to send me the email so I shouldn't hear back for awhile Did you get a call??
  10. I had my phone interview today and told the lady about that email sent out today and she made me send it to her because apparently that shouldn't have been sent out to anyone? She told me not to apply using it and to wait until she sends me an email directly from her saying I can now apply to units. So I think you did it correctly the first time and the email they sent today is wrong. But yeah I had an interview for St. Davids postpartum and I didn't go and now I regret it So hopefully seton works out haha
  11. Oh okay! I was gonna look into them but i'm undecided. Hey, when they sent you that email and applied for the actual units what did you put for license/certification? The instructions are telling me to put GN but that isn't an option and BLS certification isn't an option as well??
  12. Oh haha do you go to the UTHSCH? Okay but real talk is it bad that I was asked zero behavioral questions and the interview lasted like 12 minutes?? Im so paranoid I did terrible.
  13. She didn't tell me anything about mine! Its a phone interview since I go to school in Galveston but I honestly just feel like its another phone screen in order to proceed onto the actual hiring managers for the OB units. Have you gone to your interview yet?
  14. So I just did my phone interview and trust me it was a hot mess. I made the mistake of saying I really wanted to work at a hospital that had a GN residency and looked at all the hospitals in SA. She asked me if I applied to methodist too lol. I also got super confused on locations and she had to explain it to me. Overall it was quite an experience. When they scheduled the second interview did they tell you what hospital and unit it was for? She just told me mine was for womens services?
  15. That's great!! Hopefully you get the ER position! Have you heard any good things about St. Davids? I've gotten conflicting opinions on their system from multiple people so I wasn't sure if I should apply?
