  1. To be completely honest, you like will not get in without a Cna or healthcare experience. I am currently on the waiting list, have my Cna with hospital experience, a 3.6 GPA and got a 88 on the HESI. A friend of mine has a 4.0 but doesn't have a Cna and the nursing admin told her they have never accepted someone without a Cna. I would go ahead and get certified before you apply and you will have a good chance at getting in! Good luck!
  2. I'm applying for the 2016 start. Have a relatively good GPA (3.6) and got a 85% on the HESI. I have been working as a CNA at university hospital for about 7 months now. Just trying to get an idea if I'll possibly make it in. Also applying to DSN. Did you get into MSU Denver? If so what were your stats?

I work on Easter this weekend, and I was just wondering if most hospitals pay extra for this holiday or not?
  4. I'm a CNA at the hospital and I love it. I did my clinicals in a LTC and didn't really like it. I felt like I was just cleaning up poop all day at the LTC. I've already learned so much at the hospital (it's a teaching hospital as well) and I think it is really preparing me for nursing school! Also the pay & benefits are much better where I work compared to the local nursing homes where I live.
  5. Show that you're confident and friendly. That will show that you can interact with people well. I just got hired at a hospital with little experience. The questions were pretty basic, you're accomplishments, what makes you stand out, a time that you think you went above and beyond for a payient, stuff like that.
  6. I am taking my pre-reqs at metro as well and have only 2 left and then I'll start applying to nursing school. I currently work as a Cna at the university hospital and I'm curious if I'll be able to continue working throughout nursing school? Glad you liked it there, I'm highly considering it there since metros program only accepts 25 per year.
