  1. Hello! I am an RN at UW Hospital now. I have my BSN. Although they prefer BSN, they definately hire ADN's as well. As far as tuition reimbursement, they pay up to a certain amount per year, I think it is 5000 a year, but I am not certain. That, and the other benefits (which are awesome) don't kick in for 6 months, though. I really like it there. I think there is a lot of support for nurses and in general, it is pro-nursing. It is a teaching hospital, which would be a big change if you are from a smaller, community hospital. Well, that's my two cents! Hope it helps.
  2. I was wondering if anyone could share your hospital's policy on giving IVIG. Do you do frequent vital signs? Do you need to use an in-line filter? Thanks!
  3. It is just my opinion, but I thought Kaplan's questions were "weird". Some I just didn't agree with and they irritated me. But the ones that were difficult on NCLEX were because I wasn't that familiar with the particular content not because I felt tricked. Plus, in the NCLEX Candidate Booklet you get, it says that whether you pass or fail, most people only get 50% right. You just have to get 50% of the "hard ones" right. I think Kaplan says you should get 65% on their tests to REALLY ensure you are ready. Good luck!
  4. I just took NCLEX yesterday, got 75 questions and passed. I also took Kaplan. I thought the NCLEX questions were much more straight-forward and easy to understand than the Kaplan ones by far. I didn't feel that NCLEX questions were there to trick me. I also did the Question Trainers and pretty much scored between 61-69% on all of them (64% on the final). Hope this helps! Good luck!
  5. I don't think this is that unusual... I have been to my practioner's office on two occasions when the MA introduced herself to me as my doctor's "nurse" when I could see from her clinic badge that she was an MA. I also found this very misleading and inappropriate.
