  1. Hi everyone, I am a Canadian nurse, who took my exam a few weeks ago. After the exam I was certain I failed. I felt horrible and cried as I left the testing center. I prepared by taking the Hurst review and reading the Kaplan book. I found both to be beneficial. Kaplan taught good strategies on how to take the exam, and Hurst reviewed core content. However, after writing the exam I would suggest future test takers to review Saunders comprehensive review or Mosbys as well. Anyways, as I was writing and the questions kept going up my testing anxiety increased as I knew I still didn't pass. However best thing to keep in mind is that you still haven't failed and still have a chance as you are "still in the game." The Hurst review people also mentioned that a few randomly selected students are chosen to write all 265 qns. Take your breaks, bring a small snack in case you get hungry. Get rest and eat a nutritious meal before you start the exam. I wouldn't recommend writing on a Friday, the weekend went very slow and the waiting was horrible. After the exam I was certain I failed and the wait was horrible. Good luck to any future test takers!! For Canadian writers dw most of my cohort has passed! So the pass rate is pretty good :)
