Hi everyone, I am in the application process for an ABSN program. I have already been accepted to one and am waiting to hear back from two others. I thought I had completed all of the prerequisite courses so I enrolled in Pathophysiology and Pharmacology (both of which are not prerequisite courses for the schools I have applied to), thinking that it would be helpful to be familiar with the content for when I take patho and pharm in nursing school. After the semester began, I heard from one of the schools that they wanted me to take organic chemistry in addition to the chemistry class I already have taken. I enrolled in the chemistry class but am now finding that the ochem class and my patho class are really conflicting. In addition, ochem is really difficult for me and I could really use the extra study time by dropping a class - especially because I need a good grade in ochem. I stated in my applications (even thought it wasn't necessary) that i would be taking patho and provided transcripts as proof of enrollment so I am worried that it will look bad to have a W if I withdraw at this point. I am wondering if anyone has any advice or has had a similar experience and if so, do you think that the schools that I am still waiting to hear from will see the W in a class they thought I was taking and potentially reverse an acceptance or do you think they will not care since it is not a prerequisite course?
