  1. I'm off of orientation...
  2. Hi I'm a new graduate nurse who just got off of orientation.. I was planning to tell my new manager that I'm need time off from Feb15-Mar.1 2016.My uncle is very ill and his health is going down hill and I wish I could go sooner but she already has me in the schedule for dec. and January. I was planning to talk to her in person about it and write an email to her about tomorrow. Any suggestions??? My concern is may not approve it, I already bought tickets .
  3. So I almost done with orientation and will start on my own in December.. But I'm so nervous and scared. My new manger wants my schedule soon but says I need to work evenings in which I was not oriented on evenings but days. Anyways I want to work only 36 hours but I don't know if that would change. I'm currently in school for my BSN because I only have my associates degree. Throughout I had great preceptors which I'm thankful for. I asked one of my preceptors to email me her schedule so I can see an example of it, she then started asking why I need and that I shouldn't follow her exact schedule. I told her I was not going to copy it, I just wanted to see a sample. The main reason I ask for it because she told me I should follow hers so if I had questions she will be able to help when I was on my own. Now, it seems like she doesn't want me to work on some days she works. She's a great nurse and is a great teacher. I feel as though now I have no support at work because if I have questions or concerns I can't ask her. There are others nurse but are they don't like to help. I'm a new nurse and need the support. Was it wrong for me to ask for an example of her schedule?
  4. Yes I'm a new grad thank you.. I'm trying not to stress over it... I try to be the best nurse that I can be...
  5. I been overwhelmed at a rehab hospital and feel like I'm slow with just two patients. Lately they have been short staffed and been giving me and my preceptor 7-8 patient.I don't think it was fair because how was I suppose to learn if she had 7patients. My preceptor said I'm doing ok so far this was my four week and feel like I can't handle 2 patient on my own. I feel like I'm slow and don't know anything. I'm so overwhelmed I wonder if I should continue to be a nurse. Any advice?
  6. My current job didn't offer me a job. They said I have to get my BSN first I don't want to work there as a tech knowing that I'm an RN.
  7. Hello everyone, I guess GPA does matter. I graduated from ADN program with 2.90 and now in school for BSN. I got decline a job offer because my GPA was low for them. It's been a year out of school and I been working as a tech for a while but feel that I am going to lose my nursing skills. I feel discouraged and I made the mistake to email HR to thank them and stated that I knew my GPA didn't meet their expectations . I guess I sound desperate and unprofessional. Now it might hurt me to get a job there in the future. I'm sad about it and upset.
  8. I'm searching but no luck and now that I'm working here I dislike because I'm losing my nursing skills.. If I quit now I will have a big hole in my resume and will make me look bad. I'm also worried about benefits too. I'm so stressed.
  9. Congrats you will love their program I graduated last May 2014
  10. An update apparently I can but I would have to stay within my scope meaning not to give shots or meds working as a tech.... I took the job because I have my ADN and knew it would be hard for me to find an RN job... I looking in BSN programs now... This kinda sucks but when a door opens take the opportunity
  11. Lol sorry it was a typo I passed on the third try
  12. Maryland has no info about it
  13. Hello everyone here's my story I graduated from ADN program in May 2014 was working as a PCT flexi... After graduation I took my board twice and FAILED!! So I never gave up and keep trying but then this past January I terminate due to a car accident and I was injured... So I started applying for another PCT jobs and got an offer from one. They want to hire me working nights and I accepted but the dilemma now is I passed my boards as an RN yesterday... so now I don't if I can't work because I'm a nurse or stay there until I find an RN job...
