As I am halfway through my first semester of nursing school, I find myself struggling to answer NCLEX and "nursing" questions. Having a quiz in every class, every day, plus writing papers, doing case studies, and participating in discussion boards is exhausting mentally and physically. Entering nursing school I knew it would be a challenge, as I witnessed my older sister spend hours at the dining room table studying late and constantly having her nose in a book. I am a very visual learner, but talking through concepts helps me understand too. Some of my professors offer points back on quizzes and tests if it was a subjective question, or a lot of people missed the question. I appreciate that in the academic aspect of keeping the required test/quiz average to move on to my next nursing classes, but am fearful because NCLEX doesn't give points back. What is the best way to study and improve your skills in answering NCLEX type questions, and understanding how to make a decision in a situational question?

If anyone has any tips on how to "survive" nursing school, whether it be studying techniques, how to eliminate bogus answers, or ANYTHING that helped current nursing students or previous nursing students push through nursing school and pass boards I would greatly appreciate it!
