  1. Ah, thank you. Sorry I posted from the app on my phone and have yet to figure out how to search threads from it.
  2. What is/was your grading scale at your respective nursing schools? I'm just curious if most schools try to stick to the same scale. My school uses the following: A is 93-100 B is 85-92 C is 76-84 And nothing else matters because you fail below 76% I attend a satellite campus of a larger university, but I have friends who went to more prestigious schools and had an easier scale. Granted, at the end of the day the same grades are passing grades, but it certainly looks better to have As than Bs and Bs than Cs! Just something I was thinking about. :)
  3. Yes! It sounds all too familiar. Actually your experience sounds far worse. Our profs are similar, but they are on it with our clinicals, and we have sims as well that we use often. Thank you for the advice! I will definitely look into those resources.
  4. I feel like there is some difference between the expectation of everything handed to you on a silver platter and knowing that you're in the midst of chaos. Granted, much of nursing is learning how to deal with chaos, but I feel like it would be beneficial to have a strong foundation in our education before having to cope with it. I have a bachelor's in another field, so I do understand what you are saying about how nursing education is different. However, other fields aren't entirely charitable with telling you what to do either. They expect you to figure things out on your own as well. The difference is, nursing is far more demanding, and you're dealing with lives. Do you feel you predominantly taught yourself? That your professors are/were there merely to administer tests and quizzes? Because that is where we are at right now. It's jarring, that's for sure! Thanks for the feedback!
  5. I'm just curious to see how many people struggle with grasping material due to lack of organization/instruction from their professors. I feel like my nursing school experience thus far has been largely self taught...which is extremely frustrating considering the amount of money spent on this education. Of course I understand the expectations of reading the material, but it would be helpful to be instructed on how to apply it. It especially seems difficult when we have multiple professors for one course. Has anyone had a disorganized professor? What do you do to keep yourself organized and to enhance your understanding of the material?
