TVCC Fall 2016
That is awesome! You definitely have a chance. Question on here, did anybody get their fingerprints done yet and receive results? If so when did you get them done and how long did it take you to get results?

TVCC Fall 2016
Oh ok! I did not know that. What # alternate are you? And thank you! I am not sure how many people got denied.

TVCC Fall 2016
I asked the counselor at the Terrell campus and she told me that Jeffrey (the Kaufman counselor) said all the alternates got in last year because a lot of people dropped, like more than usual. Plus people do drop regardless, it happens. I remember Jeffery telling me that they could take up to 10 to 15 people in the summer. However last year even more got in than that. My advice is to go to orientation. My counselor told me that a friend of mine was an alternate but didn't get in because she didn't go to orientation. The rest that did were accepted.

TVCC Fall 2016
I know, I'm really wanting in because I have literally done all I can do. The only reason I don't have like 19 is because I didn't complete 2 classes before the deadline, which is what I'm doing now. I have a back up and probably will try pursuing a BSN if i don't get into this program. Comment whenever yall get your letters!

TVCC Fall 2016
I did. How many points do you guys have? I think I applied with 17 with two classes. If you are taking classes in the Spring, that will help you in case of a tie breaker. I'm so nervous and I can't stand this wait!

Trinity Valley Community College 2016
Hey everyone! Just wanted to start a thread and see if anybody out there is applying to TVCC's nursing program in Kaufman for the 2016 school year. The application process has started and the deadline is December 1st. I would love to know if anybody else out there is with me on this one! I'm applying to the RN BSN program. I haven't submitted it yet.

Trinity Valley Community College Fall 2015
Hey everyone! So, anybody applying this December?? I would love to hear from anybody applying! I figured I would try and bump up this thread. I have so many questions and would like to know the lowest amount of points people typically can get to get accepted to the RN BSN program. :) EDIT: I started a new thread on Texas Nursing about this so hope that is OK.

I feel like a failure.
Thanks so much everyone for your comments. I guess ultimately I am just in a hurry to get into nursing school! But I realize it's okay to slow down and make good grades. My goal is to get into the 2 year program and then transfer to the RN to BSN program. Hopefully it all turns out well and you all have cheered my spirits!

I feel like a failure.
Hello allnurses, A little background about me: I'm a 22 year old student attending a local CC to get my prerequisites done to apply for a 2 year nursing program that I can do to transfer to a RN to BSN program easily when I am finished. I'm pretty much almost done with my prerequisites. My plan originally was to take A&P I and II over the summer and microbiology this fall. Well, I started with A&P I and I was stressed. Keep it mind it's a four week course compared to 16 weeks. I dropped the class. I feel like a failure in a way. Someone told me that summer A&P course was something like nursing school and it'll determine how well you do in nursing school. People I've read on allnurses make it seem so easy that they completed this 4 week course that I decided to try it. I really feel like I would do better on a traditional 16 week course and not something so condensed like this. I felt like I wasn't enjoying anything I was learning and it was not sticking. I also didn't like the professor and how she did things. Overall, it wasn't what I expected and I feel like a failure. It's gonna put me behind a bit and I may not have enough points to meet the cut off for acceptance this semester. I'm pretty close but the reason for taking A&P over the summer and Micro in the fall would get me all the points for the classes needed before the deadline to apply for fall 2016. I mean, I could apply but it wouldn't be as great of points. I could try other nursing schools since this one only accepts every fall semester. But I just really like the way this one operates. So I'm thinking about just spanning out my sciences because I feel like I would do a lot better. So A&P I In fall, A&P II in Spring and microbiology in fall. Because micro and A&P at the same time sounds terrifying. I guess what I am asking for is if someone else has had this problem and I guess some encouragement. I keep thinking to myself that everyone has their own pace but I know nursing school won't be easy. And the comment that said that if you take summer A&P would determine how well you'll do in nursing school scares me. Any comments welcome. Sorry for the length!

I need some advice on A&P!
OH, that's what I forgot to mention. Yes, my nursing program accepts online A&P lecture and lab. I feel as though online would be more challenging but I'm just nervous for this on-campus professor.

I need some advice on A&P!
Hello! I'm going to take summer/fall courses this year. This will be my last two semesters of prerequisites and then I can apply for my school's nursing program! I'm going to crunch time and take both A&P I and II during the summer. I realize it'll be tough, but I have no choice. My A&P I course I will be taking at my local CC on-campus, and afterwards I'm transferring to another CC for A&P II (it'll provide me with additional points to enter the program if I attend their school for 15+ credit hours). The problem is I have two options: Take an A&P II course online or on campus. This CC only has two professors that are teaching A&P for the summer semesters. The one that's on campus seems to have bad reviews on ratemyprofessor while the one online has good ones. I'm conflicted because I'm highly intimated taking an online A&P II course. It is already intimidating to me to be taking A&P at all this summer. How bad is an online A&P course? Any advice? I really do like the classroom setting, however, with a bad professor it seems as though that would be ruined. Online classes I have taken before but nothing as complicated as A&P. Anything would be helpful to read at this point. If you have any experiences with A&P online please let me know how that went! If it helps, I'm in Dallas, TX, and the school for the A&P II course is at Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell. ** I forgot to mention that my nursing school does accept online A&P lecture and lab.
