  1. thank you all for the wonderful comments. update: I have not heard back from a single place that I applied to. so I took the job. the residency program was excellent. after I completed the program I started at 20$/hr. after approx 5-6 months I was bumped to 25$/hr and if I stay with the company for a year I will be bumped again to 27$/hr with a $500 bonus. it is a slow upward progression. I must say that the people I work with are truly the greates and very supportive. the clients I have met I fell in love with, it is a very up close and personal work atmosphere. home health is definently a mixed bag, but I'm glad I chose the route I did.
  2. well the 12 week nurse resident program is over and currently I am independent in the field. my rate is 20$ and hour. I am not full time and the benefits I was told about do not apply to me because I am not contacted as full time despite being told I would be during my interview. I work some weeks 40 hours then the next 20 hours. no consistency at all. the clients are absolutely amazing, but as a new grad looking to buy a house and have a family one day this isn't going to cut it.
  3. it is 12 weeks at 10$ an hour with classroom time and field
  4. hello and HELP! I am new RN I have my ASN and enrolled in a BSN program. I went to my first interview for a pediatric home health company the other day. They told me they would pay me 10$/hr for the first 12 weeks of training!!! I am in shock, I feel insulted, and I'm disappointed. Ive never heard of a nurse being paid that! after training they told me my pay would be 20$/hr working nights and weekends, but that even seems low to me. Has anyone ever encountered this before? As a new nurse I dont know if this is a regular rate, or a company taking advantage of new grads who dont know better. I was so excited to even get the interview, but this just doesn't seem right to me... help!
