OBGYN Requirements
Hi, I'm 16 / a high school sophomore thinking ahead about my future career as an obgyn. I've researched the pre requirements into a ba program for direct admission in to college, I'll also have my AA when I graduate which is one of the requirements, but my question is, if I meet all the pre requirements could I be accepted directly into this University?and also I know it's 4 years in the program, then 4 years for your M.D then 3 years of residency I state this to make sure I'm right so correct me if I'm wrong! Thank you for your time I appreciate it greatly.

Ty,I've been on that site but I have a question regarding what you said earlier what do you mean by "If you have your BSN you will enter a masters program to become a midwife",If I just go straight for my BSN then go for my masters will I be a mid-wife after that,or is a mid-wife program still required? And yes I understand the issue regarding my age I'm a freshman in highschool just thinking ahead.By the time I graduate I'll be 19 with my AA or AS.

How do I become a Midwife or Doula?
Even though you asked this about 3 years ago as a future kid who plans to major in Nursing,I feel the need to share what I learned through tons of research and post I've made in the last 3 days! Steps to becoming a MidWife are pretty much determined based on the area your in. First I'd get a associates degree this can either be a AS or an AA both work as far as I'm concerned there basically 2 year programs and u can start working to be a RN right after that...Then you'll need to go to a local college that offers bachelor degrees should be another 2 years when your done with that admission into a Nurse Mid-Wife program when done you should be a new Nurse Mid-Wife.:)

Yes I know it would take more but considering I'm in high school and my high-school offers a program allowing us to take college courses to get our AA I figured they might as well let me get my AS there pretty much relating to the same thing.

Yes multiple colleges require me to have a associates degree, which would you say benefit me more having my AA or my AS?

An ASN is a associates in science nursing degree.

An AA is an associates art degree program my school offers that gets 2 years of college out of the way, I'm currently In 9th grade but I'm thinking ahead about my future. I was planning on doing to the program and taking as much ASN classes as I can in my next 3 years of being in college courses. Then I'd go for my bachelor's degree, farther comments to this allowed.. If there's a easier way than this let me know :]
