  1. Hahaa, don't blame you. ED is my only true nursing experience, tried little of pediatric nursing but left faster than I could spell the word "Run"...lol, I love the ED, not always fun but I love the experience so much so that even after grad school I still plan to be part of ED care.
  2. I am looking for FNP for my speciality, with the goal of offering care primarily in the community setting and supplementing it with emergency acute care setting. Currently I work in the ED and the experience I am getting is gearing me towards FNP.
  3. Hi CCuser, Apparently I can't PM since I haven't been in more than 15 topics on this forum. Maybe email me at [email protected]. I am in NC too and happen not to be a fan of online classes. So through AACN website i have learned that Wiston-Salem State University also has a DNP program... Do you anything about it...?
  4. I am ridding the same boat with you CCuser, I was rejected too I got the dreaded email while I was on my way to my best friends wedding. I felt crushed. I also thought I put in a really strong application but apparently not good enough. I refuse to give up too, I am setting sight on 2016 with a goal of putting in multiples(at least 3) different DNP program applications (I spent the night after shortlisting those which I plan to apply to), I plan to update by re-doing my GRE or MAT soon, then the statistics and research level class that seems all highly ranked programs are requiring... by then I will also have acquired nursing certification (which I am working on currently) that I feel will improve my chances for 2016 intakes. On the bright side, I heard from a friend who had to settle for the MSN, that it is very unlikely to be accepted to a DNP program first time... Time for me to show some resilience.
  5. Yes, that helps a lot. I also saw on their website that the notifications will be sent out on April, is that what they said at the info session, or they might have a delay due to record number of applicants?... Also, if I may ask, what is the regular NP? is that the MSN?
  6. Hi Free73, Few questions/Request 1. At the info session, did they say when they expect to announce/send notifications results for applicants? 2. Do they notify everyone...meaning accepted or not? 3. Do you mind sharing maybe private message me any other pertinent information they covered at the info session please, I missed because I was unaware it was happening? Thank you in advance. Fieldmarshall
  7. Hi cali408, I applied to UNC-Chapel Hill BSN-DNP program for 2015 and the wait is more nerve wrecking than I though. I was wondering when they release or notify applicants. I have looked up everywhere in their website there seems not to be a clear date, the indication is March-April... I check the application portal virtually everyday. FieldMarshall.
