  1. Sure! Do you want to meet by the mural at the entrance? Of if you know of a better place...?
  2. Been absent for a while, but now that today is Registration/Orientation Day.... YAAAAAAY!!!!!! I look forward to meeting all you fellow evening classmates this afternoon! By the way, the Facebook Group link takes me to a group that is no longer there... :-(
  3. I emailed him right back, too! I guess we're two crazy birds of a feather
  4. Congrats!!!! Yayy!!
  5. I got into the evening program for Fall 2015!!!!! Words cannot describe how excited I am!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!!
  6. Alright! :-) Well, I look forward to that email and to meeting you!
  7. Laurynq16, Are you serious???!!!!! Thank you for the good news! It would really make my day; I finally got that nasty bug that's been floating around and have a splitting headache. Ugh.
  8. Thank you, breezy96. I'm a bit confused. I was told only a little above 10% of the applicants got over an 80 on the TEAS. That aside, all 'qualified candidates' who scored under an 80 are still awaiting their email with further instructions on essays, etc. How, then, could they have already made their final decision? I guess time will tell... Now hopefully not all 56 needed an evening class spot...
  9. Also, she said only a little over 10% of the applicant pool got an 80+ on their TEAS, so our chances are awesome! :-)
  10. Yes. I called and Kathy said that those with an 80+ TEAS score may get their acceptance emails as early in the next two business days. Let's see...
  11. Not worries about my chances at getting in so much as I'm worried about my chances at getting in to the night program. (Fingers crossed!)
  12. Thanks, Laurynq16. Good info to know, little as it may be. And may the ranking system work in our favor! :-)
  13. Laurynq16, Did the advisor give you any other useful info while we wait?
  14. I took it last semester with Dr. Bellas. He's very disorganized, but an excellent professor whose every intention is to help you succeed in his class. :-)
  15. Absolutely. And I'd give it your best shot on the TEAS! :-) Another tip is to take it early enough to where you can take it again Summer semester if you need to take another stab at the TEAS. Jorie is really great. I had a ton of questions and she's really comfortable to talk to.
  16. I just spoke with Kathy from JJC nursing admissions. She said there were over 200 applications this time around. She does not know what the TEAS average was. For those of us who scored over an 80, we will be receiving an email first week of March stating that we preliminarily qualify for admission. For those who did not qualify because they're short classes or whatever, they, too, will be notified at that time. We will then need to wait until April 1st to hear if we've been accepted or not. If you want to make absolutely certain JJC Nursing received your application, you can speak with Kathy (815) 280-2429. She will confirm receipt. She also asked me to fax in my high school transcript - even though I have another Bachelor's degree. Just a heads up for those who did not complete this step. I just did it now. Good luck! Post if you hear anything else. :-)
  17. I just got on here to let you know that I just called and no one is available today either - and saw your post. ;-)
  18. It's closed today. No one answered.
  19. Yes. But if there are enough over-80 scores, we go back in the lottery. It's in God's hands. I've worked as hard as I could. :-)
  20. Hey, congrats!! And now you're making me nervous. Hopefully not all those people scored over 80. Ha!
  21. The advisor said sometime mid-end of March. How did you do your second time?
  22. Thank you for all the tips!!
  23. Thanks for stopping by, JMarie19! I, too, would love to hear about the program a little bit; how many classes did you take your first semester? Second semester? If I take the CNA course over the summer, would I be able to skip that course in Nursing? Do you have kids? If so, is it a pretty crazy juggle? Any tips and advice would be appreciated (I read the organization tip on another thread).
  24. Because I had only about 2 months to study for the TEAS V and because I hadn't had a Chemistry, Math, Physics, or General Bio class in about 10 years, I found going through the ATI TEAS prep manual page by page and YouTube-ing tutorial videos and finding practice worksheets/quizzes online on material I needed to brush up on to be most effective. I didn't have time to do the two practice tests at the end of the book or the online practice tests. From what I've heard, the online practice tests are much more rigorous than the actual exam. You will do fine; it's not that hard of a test - it's just lengthy.
  25. Wonderful! Let's touch base in March! :-)
