How many hours is a nurse allowed to work in a row in a 24 hour period in the state of Texas on call? Is there a limit where you shouldn't work over any amount of hours in a 24 hour period?

I definitely don't want to be a problem employee I will take my turn at it. It would just really help me to keep my head up if I knew that this was just a rotation and there would be an end to it.

I was hired as scrub nurse and will learn to circulate

I have been hired in the OR to scrub because of my previous surgical tech experience I am a new graduate RN. I was loving my assignments because they kept me busy but recently I have been put into a room where I sit there most of the time. I am a really good scrub and have not had any problems with any staff members up to this point. Am I allowed to find assignments that I like or does it matter do I have to work in the boring room because there shortstaffed or do I have a choice?

Trichick I actually had applied back in Jan and had to wait a while. I had transcripts coming from three different places so I had to wait until they all were received. I didn't know if I would be excepted so I was asking about good programs for RN to BSN if I didn't get excepted as a backup plan

I am sorry to hear that. If nobody was able to help me I probably would have put on some nice clothes, grabbed my resume, and went to every possible place I could find that interested me. You will get a job soon. I also thought about paying someone to find me a job if I couldn't find one myself. Like a personal recruiter.
