  1. Hi I will be starting nursing school in August at GMU, and wanted to reach out to any current/previous nursing students on what they did as far as balancing work and nursing school. I do not live with my parents, have bills, and need health insurance so I have to work. My job is letting me work every weekend, with a few hours on the day I don't have class, but people tell me that might be too much. Does anyone have any advice or could share what they did?? Thank you!
  2. Yeah, sure!
  3. There are so many scholarships for nursing students. Just apply to as many as possible.
  4. I'll definitely be taking out student loans, trying to get some scholarships, and working part time. Mostly weekends.
  5. Yes. I asked, because I've already paid an enrollment fee too since I started at Mason last semester. She said in a few days we will here back from them and they will tell us what we should do. But we don't have to pay the enrollment fee. Congratulations!!
  6. I think they might be good. The pass rate is at a 91%, with 137 people taking it.
  7. I got mine too!!!! Congratulations!
  8. Right. Now I'm just worried about English lit.
  9. No thankfully that didn't transfer as an elective.
  10. I took psy 201 at NVCC, and SOC 101 which was an equivalent recommendation on the sheet for social science. I took Children's lit, ENG 250, which is not listed online, but since it said any 200 level. I feel like some of the equivalents I followed on the sheet are not matching up online and my transfer evaluation.
  11. I am getting nervous now. I decided to check my transfer evaluation today with the online requirements and they did my transfer evaluation weird. My intro to psychology from NOVA is a psychology elective to GMU. However I followed the sheets given to us at the nursing info session so I am confused. They also told me their and 200 level lit class would be accepted but online the lit class I took isn't listed as an approved mason core. I should have looked this over before, but I didn't get my final transcripts until late January since I just finished at NOVA in December. I am totally freaking out now!
  12. that post was removed. I just went to get the phone number to called, and its mysteriously gone.
  13. Nope. I've given up any kind of hope
  14. Which did you sign up for?? I just signed up for one in July
  15. Which one?? I did too!
  16. I doubt they are still sending out emails, they posted on their facebook page a message from the dean basically saying thanks for all who played, we could only take a small amount of students this year blah blah blah
  17. Why does this have to so complicated? I want to call them too
  18. They need to get organized. They aren't telling people who didn't get in until next week? that's so late, what about this "mandatory orientation" we're suppose to attend?
  19. They said they wouldn't send those out until everyone who was accepted accepts or denies.
  20. They took more time saying they received our applications. My plan B is Mason or Marymount I guess. I don't think I want to waste my time with their hybrid program.
  21. Then they shouldn't have lowered the teas score requirements. That's why so many people applied.
  22. I think at this rate, I may look at Marymount or Mason and just get my BSN. Most hospitals here won't even look at you if you have an associates anyway, and if you get hired you have to get it by 2019.
  23. They posted a graph, which shows they didn't accept 75% of the students who applied.
  24. My friend got hers too, this was my plan B
  25. I probably will call too, I want to know why they lowered the teas score, and then decided to only accept 24% Obliviously there were going to be a lot more applicants
