  1. I'm a new grad looking to get into emerg, and I'm really interested to hear what everyone has to say when thinking back on their career in emerg nursing. How long have you been nursing? Emerg nursing? What decisions would you do all over again? What would you change? Starting off all over, what would you do?
  2. I've been in contact with a Canadian recruiter about the prospects of working in CA in a new grad ER position. I graded with my BScN in 2015. I haven't worked in ER, but have been an EMT for 12 years. I don't know a whole lot about the questions I should be asking, I'm hoping I can get some help with that here :)
  3. I'm a Canadian BSN who recently graduated in April of this year. I was lucky enough to get a position in the OR during my final practicum, an in-house hospital specialty program focusing on the OR basics. I got my first job as an BSN in the operating room May 18th and have been working there full time since. There is general, urology, and gynaecology. I also have done some pre-admission and day care clinic rotations in that position. The position I'm in is full time till Nov, then goes to a casual position afterwards (it's a 6month new grad position). There's as many casual and PT as anyone could hope for, but I'm looking to do FT and OT to get some student loans paid off and build experience. I'm looking for opportunities outside Canada, I'm not really picky where at although the USA and Australia is at the top of my list, but would like to work somewhere where BSNs have opportunity to make a good wage and have lots of opportunity. I'm interested in OR, but would really like to get into ER or ICU when I'm able to. I'm also currently enrolled in part one of a two semester ER certificate. Any thoughts or ideas?
