Has any new grad ever started out as a home care consultant?

I am sure they will give me training and also I am seeing patients who are being discharged so it is not necessarily like I am giving medications and playing the full role of the nurse. Most of my time seems to be in an office setting. However I am concerned that I will not be able to anticipate the patients discharge needs as I have zero experience with this, is this something that can be learned as a new graduate?

Hello fellow nurses, I am wondering if I should take a home care consultant position I am being offered as a new grad. I have no prior practical experience I am straight out of school and was wondering if I would be taking on too much by accepting a home care consultant position. From what I was told I would be seeing 8 patients a day on average and assessment their discharge needs. Is this a bad idea to start in home care consulting for vns in manhattan? Advice? Thank you!

HI, I have an RN license in NJ and would like to know what is required in order to maintain it. Do I have to do a certain amount of Continued Education Classes. How many and where? Do I have to pay?? Thank you!!

Hi, I have been confused about the topic of agency nursing and skilled nursing facility nursing. I have been on interviews for skilled nursing facilities but am not so sure of what the difference between these "nursing homes" are from calling an "agency". Do they give you less orientation. Do agency nurses hop from skilled nursing facility to skilled nursing facility at someone's beck and call. Also why is there such a stigma against nursing homes as opposed to hospitals for new graduates. One of my interviewers said to me flat out that I would be on a 1:40 nurse patient ratio if hired in the nursing home? Isn't this illegal?? Please any insight would be appreciated! Thank you!

I graduated May of 2014 so I am not sure if I am still considered a new graduate nurse but I am afraid I wont even get a volunteer position at NYM. What types of questions will they ask?

I applied to NYM and got a call back for a volunteering interview this tuesday. Quick question can you actually be denied a volunteering position.What is the purpose of the interview? I am shocked that even some of the patient care positions are filled up??!

Should i just try agency nursing in ny...i live in ny now so the idea of waiting another month is driving me crazy...any places in ny that will hire me?

But i am licensed in nj and should receive my license in ny in another month or so but cant i in the mean time do cna work in ny or will they see i am licensed in nj. and even if they did the license doesnt cross over state lines so i could just say im waiting and need money in the meantime

Can i work as a cna in a state that i am not licensed as an rn as of yet. I am a rn in nj but not in ny can i work as a cna in ny?

Where would I have to relocate in order to find a job? I mean the fact that I hold a dual license in both NJ and NY I would have thought would have landed by something by now. I am so upset if I could go back and do it all over I would have aggressively pursued a CNA job in a hospital. I am really at a loss because how am I supposed to relocate with no savings? I am 23? I would appreciate anyone who can identify the states, hospitals, that are sure to hire someone who has zero experience but is licensed as a BSN? I guess I can live in a motel at these hospitals that are more new grad friendly until I save some money. I am willing to do anything, I've got nothing to lose since i have no kids, homes, or other responsibilities. I'd rather pay my dues I just dont know where these jobs are?
