  1. Just an update.... I finally went before the BNE in Austin this week. I was approved to take my NCLEX exam. It really was not as bad as I thought it would be, however a classmate that went with me for her hearing was turned down. Our cases were totally different as mine was for depressive disorder and hers was a past conviction. Good luck to all who may have to go thru the declatory process.
  2. Update... I finally received a letter of invitation to my hearing in March before the Eligibility Board in Austin. I will let you all know how the process goes and what to expect if you are required to go before boards. Wish me luck!!
  3. Have you asked your instuctors or program director about this? I would ask them to contact BNE enforcement and see if you even have to submit one. And you can file it even after you graduate , however it takes a while to get approval from the board so if you do have to file i would get it in asap..
  4. In response to your post.. I graduated in August of 05 from LVN school . In March of 05 I filed a declatory with BNE of Texas. I have had to send more and more paperwork, and have been waiting for a spot on the Elegibility and Discipline Board meeting since August. The last "unofficial" word was that I should go before the Board in February of 06. This is a very lengthy process.. the Board is backlogged with cases and is very thourogh in the paperwork. My filing is for a depressive disorder. I had classmates that have had to go for psych and polygraphs. It is a VERY frustrating process , and the one advice I have for new or current students is file asap, and expect at least a 6-8 month wait.
  5. I know what you mean, how do you defend yourself against nature,lol... but perhaps going to nursing school for 12 months during which I was broke, raising 2 kids, had to let my car get repossessed, my mother passed away, and I made 4.0 first and 3rd semeter, and 3.75 in second speaks fot itself? if I was gonna break, I would have broken already..
  6. I was hoping to find someone who had gone before the board for eligiblity. I am diagnosed bipolar II and the board requires I come to a hearing to determine eligibility. Is there any advice out there for me?
