I'm currently working in Pittsburgh, PA. I have been a nurse since 2006 and I'm currently a clinician at UPMC which is basically an assistant manager on a nursing unit. I'm saving up to move south and I love Wilmington. I have read some interesting things to say the least about NHRMC, however I could easily find complaints about UPMC and I don't think I'm treated badly here. I'm finishing my MSN this semester and I am wondering if I should finish my MBA as well. It would add another $10,000 on to my student loan so if anyone has any insight as to whether this is a good idea or not, please let me know! I would finish it if I planned to stay in Pittsburgh for sure because so many people have their MSN here since there is a university on every corner. I am applying for jobs here in Pittsburgh and plan to gain experience as a unit director for at least a year at UPMC before I move so I can apply for management positions in Wilmington. I'm not sure how competitive management jobs are in Wilmington and if experience or a degree is more valued there. Also, does anyone know if NHRMC pays well? I read an old thread so I realize it was probably outdated and it pretty much only discussed GN starting rates.
