  1. Hi fellow nurses. I am an experienced med-surg nurse who took a job in L&D 8 weeks ago. My orientation/training is 12 weeks. Just prior to taking the job, our family business (mainly run by my husband) folded due to unforeseen and expensive circumstances. We had to lay off our employees and we have found ourselves in a financial crisis. I have been supporting our family by the skin of my teeth. We began to realize that we will have to relocate for my husband to find employment just after I began my job. I felt horrible staying at the unit and being trained, but I could not afford to quit. We decided to sell our house and accepted an offer after it was on the market for 3 days. My husband has interviews lined up in our new city next week. Our house is set to close in a month. I am going to have to quit prior to the ending of my orientation and feel so horrible about it. My preceptors are amazing and have taught me so much. Any ideas on how to quit this job in order to keep at least one or two good references from there? This is just such a tough situation.
