  1. I am going to clinical twice a week during this semester. Sometimes, I meet instructors or senior students who demend pretty excessively on the overall performance. I try to accept all the advices that they give to me, because most of them make me sense for the educational developments to be successful as a SRNA. In someway, It gives me too much stresses which makes me feel unhappy about what I am doing. This is the last semester of didactic section. 4-7th semesters will be all full time clinicals. maybe I will get used to this environments someday in the future. If there are somebody who been through this earlier than me, please give me some advces how I can be successful and become less stressful in the clinical for the rest of school period. I know and feel that CRNA school is not easy to go through,But I am trying to think any good things that can motivate me at least. any coments will be appreciated. thanks:idea:
  2. My program started a little more than a month ago. first 1 and half weeks was like a getting know each other people wise, taking classes. after that, work load and amount of study in human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and physics and chemistry r/t anesthesia been drowing me til today after three big exams during last a few weeks. I feel like I been through a BIG jungle for digesting all these info. I am also taking a research class. Before I started school, I guessed the school would be demanding and very tough but I did not feel it literally at the time. After one and half month, most of time I studied more than 10 hours a day, sometimes I lived in the library from the moring to the close time. I passed majot huddles so far I am survived . But thinking about next 27 months ? gosh, there was no way I could finish the study just a few days before the big test, I had to digest a lillte by little everyday, still a lot of works to do. for the CRNAs or soon to be graduate, I respect your guys. Now I can understand a little bit about the nature of this CRNA school. just my ventilation. I am so tired. got to go to bed. :uhoh21:
  3. Guys. I am looking for housing or apartments information around Naples area. I am thinking about traveling down there around beginning of January to find a place to live. Any information will be appreciated. :nuke:
  4. Hey people. I found I been accepted to Wolford college for Feb 2007 class. I am so excited about this. and I am so happy. Thanks to users of this site. This site has been so helpful to me finding out what I need to know.:wink2:
  5. a friend of mine been accepted. found friday evening.
  6. Hope you will get in. The director said the offers can happen til late April. Who knows!:) . real good thing can happen. Good luck. Does letter say what ranking are you in? just curious. jin 00005
  7. I received a email that I was not selected for the anesthesia school. when I was asking to the school director, she mentioned about "experience" because I have total 11 monthes experience total which much less experience than accepted students. The director did not tell me about low grade or GPA. My unit is 9 units of CCU/ 16 beds of ICU. 377 beds hospital community based . a few cases of hearts per week. a few swans and baloon pumps per week. these are usually assigend to more esperienced nurses. I am feeling not getting enough experiences about PA catheter and baloon pumps. because the questions from director were primary about SWANs and baloon pumps and vasoactive drips. I ANSWERED correctly to those questions. my GPA is 3.13 nursing school total. last 60 hours is around 3.4. BLS, ACLS,PALS, CCRN. are my credentials. a lot of science courses due to former major MIcrobiology. I am going to another interview on this friday, but I am very concerned about getting same feedback " not enough experience". I am pretty sure this unit can not give me good enough experience even though they are nice people and it is nice plce to work. should I start searching better acuity unit to get a better experience?
  8. I applied three schools. 1. New britain- finished interview and waiting fir the final letter or decision. 2. UNIV of Kansas, going to interview on Dec, 03. next month. preparing for the interview as much as I can. 3. Minneapolis school of Anesthesia- still processing my application, due end of November. hopely waiting for any message. this will be a long winter for waiting for nothing . somebody pray for me. I just want to get it over. I did not know the process would be so long and not easy like this.
  9. I am waiting for the final result of interview ( application) for NA school. I can't be relaxed, even can't prepare on next school interview? Give me some idea how I can relax my self. Please. I check my mail box everyday like a kid seraching food in a refrigerator. sometimes I just want to get it over whether I make it or not. This waiting time is killing me? give me some advice. Thanks.
  10. I took a CCRN a few days ago. I could not make it, my score was a few points below of passing scores which made me so mad. :angryfire I have a scheduled interview in a few days. which is better idea? showing them my score and tell it was so close and I tried. or pretending I did not take it at all. know the CCRN is big credential in admission process. what do you think? Please help me and give me some idea.
  11. The schools that I applied do not require GRE. I need to be certified on CCRN and prepare for GRE. also building up one or more years of experience will make me more competitive hopefully. There are a couple of things that I need to be ready before applying to schools. Even in my unit, many nurses think about this career. But I have been seeing only a few accepted nurses. Not easy way. but somedays I will get there. please God be with me.
  12. thank you for your nice reply. Are you a SRNA? Are you in the school? I called to one of anesthesia schools to ask about whether I can apply just with 8 months of experience CCU/ICU. One guy (= assistant director) was not recommending for this year. But when I was talking to a program director, I was told " go head submit the application and see what happen". I am not quite positive about year. Like she told me I just want to see what is going to happen. I almost finished my application file. This applications process makes me so nervous in every moment. Tell me how can I relax and not worry about too much about this application process? Were you about same feeling ? If you had interviews, I want to know how was it like? stressful,,, or nightmare. give me some idea how can I prepare well in case I get an invitation for interview. Thank you.
  13. I am new visitor. Staff nurse in CCU/ICU of community hospital. currently thinking about going to CRNA school. I read enough information about how difficult it is to get in. I am ready to start the long and hard journey of this career. Been eight monthes since I started CCU/ICU. already submitted applications to several school that do not require one year experience of 1 year before submitting applications. want to experience in advance what will be the hard and difficult feeling like. :wink2:
