Hello Everybody, I have a very difficult question and I really need your advice or opinion about the issue. I really want to immigrate somewhere but I don't know which country would be the best choice. I am not concerned about money, all I want is a decent place to work in a nice country with some respect as a nurse. Some lines abou me: So I am from an Eastern European country which is part of the EEA so I won't need any work permit in the EEA and I think it would be easy to register with my degree in any EEA country as a nurse. I am trained as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and I have three-year experience in the pre-hospital/critical care. I obtained a higher vocational certificate in nursing so I am able to work in the hospital environment. After three-years of pre-hospital care, I started to work as an ICU/ER nurse. On the other hand, I am a part time student as a Bsc nurse at this moment. I will acquire my Bsc diploma from a famous college in two years and after that I want to go somewhere to work. All in all, I will have a Bsc Nursing degree with six-year work experience, mostly ICU/ER/CC. So my main intent is to be an ICU/ER nurse. Languages: I can speak English fluently. Luckily I have sense and passion for learning new languages so I want to start to learn a new language soon. But what language? It depends on my choice about immigration. I am really thinking about German, Swedish, Norwegian or Holland. I think language barrier won't be any problem. My opinion: I've made a long research about the immigration issue on the Internet, I've gone over many topics here on this site as well and my opinion is that it's not so easy to work as a foreign trained nurse in any country. There is a huge number of locally trained unemployment nurses in many countries like Australia, NZ or US. So they are out of question. But what about the EEA countries? For example the UK. I have spoken some of my British friends and they told me that it's not so easy to find a position within the NHS. NHS offers only bank/zero hours contract and the situation is quite unstable there. If they call you then you can work, it they don't.... They told me that it's much easier to find a work in nursing homes or home care but this is not my goal with all this experience and skills... I found plenty of advertisements about nursing positions in Germany. So? What about the other countries? What about Netherlands, Sweeden or Norway? Do you have any information? Is it easier to find any ER/ICU position there with a confident langauge skills? Thank you for your help in advance.
