Hi there, I'm basically just looking for some information. My sister is in her 3rd year at RGU in Aberdeen, has passed all of her exams/essays/placements etc (with a 6 on her last community placement) and graduates in December. Her last day of uni is this Friday and she has to move out of the nurses home she has lived in for the past 3 years at the beginning of September. Anyway... She called me last night crying because she hadn't "made it" into 1 of 3 groups which decides how likely it is that you will get a Job within Aberdeen. Group 1 being highly likely to get a job and group 3 meaning that you haven't a chance in hell! What exactly does this mean as I really don't understand it all. (Doesn't help that she was too upset to explain everything in detail) She said that she has to complete a 6 month course before she can apply to work in Aberdeen and this "group" thing was to get her on to this course.... What exactly is she supposed to do now? Does anyone know what her options are? I don't believe that after 3 years of training she is being 'dissed' by the city she loves and wants to work in. After all if she wanted to work in glasgow, she would have studdied nursing there! When I qualified almost 6 years ago from the UEA in Norwich, we all went for Job interviews following our completion of the course and you either got a job or didn't. (Everyone I knew got one) I just can't understand why Aberdeen would make up this silly rule. If anyone can explain this to me, please do.... I'm sooooooo confused Thanks x
