Passed the NCLEX-PN 2015 in FL
Just use the online question bank with saunders & definelty take advantage of the alternative item formats. Because you will probably see those on the test. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. I was very anxious too. And when I get anxious I make bad choices and FLUNK. But when I was in nursing school, I tried a new technique and it seemed to help to calm me down. 1. Read each question 3 times - it will help you clear your mind and help you be certain that you know what the test is asking you for. 2. They give you a dry erase marker and board. I wrote ABCD for each question, and then I marked them off as I went as to why or why not that was the answer. I took my sweet time! Remember you only have to make it to the minimum, in FL its 85 questions in 5 hours. I went to 110, and had 1 hour 45 left. Think quality not quantity - so take your time! I am wishing you NCLEX success!!

I would do 20 at a time. I say 20 because I didn't want to overwhelm myself and I really wanted the information to sink into my brain. If you use the scratch off code on the inside of your book, and add the book to your evolve account, you can use the online questions data base. And let me tell you its pretty amazing because not only do you get thousands of questions, but you can choose alternative item formats: select all that apply, ordered response, visual and audio questions too. I HIGHLY suggest doing those as the new NCLEX changes that happened in mid 2014 will give you lots of select all that apply and alternative item formats. I did not read that book from from to back. I used the hurst review. I would study a body system, then I would get online in my saunders book, and choose the content area for the questions to see how much I really knew.

Well I've never taken the RN exam, I've only been to PN school. I heard California has a strict / tough board of nursing. But what I will say is this. Patient triage should never change, in any clinical setting. Think ABCs, acute before chronic, if only chronic, then assess the Pt.

What I meant by content based is that 40% of my questions were select l that apply. Prior to taking the test I read on the NSCBN website you can get anywhere from 25-75% select all that apply. And yes they were for disease processes or expected findings.

Yea lol it's all perspective and everyone takes a different test but I felt like saunders was the closest thing to what I got...

Thank you! It sure is a relief! I guess it's all about perspective. I used hurst for the content & the red NCLEX book to gauge how much i had retained. A lot of ppl like the app. To me the app was more like the HESI - which to me was harder than the nclex because of the phrasing although my nclex was about 40 % select all that apply.

Well I finally did it. 6 months after I graduated. I took it and I was ready. The computer shut off at 110. Just want to let anyone know that is going to be taking it soon. It was more content based than anything because almost half of my questions were select all that apply. I studied with the hurst review & and the RED NCLEX PN Saunders book. I studied that NCLEX book in and out and it is closest to the format of the actual NCLEX. However to me the NCLEX mastery app was nothing like that actual NCLEX.
