  1. Everything I mentioned above is exactly what I've learned about myself the past 6 years of management in the Air Force. I definitely dwell on the tough decisions before and after the fact. Sounds like you might have a pretty good situation at your current place of work though. Only one way to find out!
  2. Thank you for the response!
  3. I would make sure that having to manage people, and all the annoying things that go with that, is something that you can handle from a stress perspective. Meaning it's one thing to handle the situation appropriately in the moment, but is that something that you're gonna take home with you? Are those frustrating interactions that inherently come with managing people going to be something that you carry with you after work and on days off? Many leaders and managers make the decision to take management positions based off their confidence on handling the situation's as they arise. But it's more than that. You can't have it bothering you and on your mind for days on end, because that stress will hurt you when it's all said and done.
  4. Hello. I'm an Air Force RN retiring soon, and looking to explore other nurse specialties other than ICU. I've been doing this 13 years now. Acute dialysis nursing has always interested me. My big question though is what would the training and orientation look like? How likely is it a dialysis company would invest in me(training), with 13 years ICU experience? There's other benefits I can offer a company, like a resume that shows a ton of experience and reliability. I ask all this because I'm entering my last 8-10 years of work before I'd like to be retired from work, so I don't want to start over in nursing. Meaning I would need the right hourly wages that at least somewhat reflect my experience and not those of a brand new RN.
  5. That's perfect! Thanks a bunch for your reply.
  6. Hello all. I wanted to clarify with whoever may be knowledgeable on the subject. I am planning on applying for an online Masters program, probably nursing administration, health administration, etc. I'm in the military and will be using tuition assistance. Liberty as you may know is very friendly in this category. It seems they are a regional accreditation in many of their online programs, but if I'm not mistaken they are nationally accredited in their online nursing masters program through CCNE. I guess I'm asking if I'm seeing this correctly. Is this accurate? Are they nationally accredited in their nursing program? And also, is this a common thing with online universities? National accreditation in certain programs but regional in others? Thanks!
