And after that training you were able to do the EKG easily and printout the strip? All easy? Do they require from you to understand in depth what is going on with the patient's heart?

When you were training as an aid, was it hard to learn the EKG?

Thank you , [COLOR=#003366]bayliedynell. No I will start to work as a HUC in the hospital, but they say to enhance my resume, and to be hireable, I should have some additional certificates, like a cardiac technician, for example. That is why I am asking, if I will attend that one day training, would I be able to perform it?

Hello, What education is needed for being able to perform 12 lead ECG ? ( place 12 leads and printout the strip) There is one day class here that gives a certificate at the end of the day, and 63 hours certificate course. Which one to choose for that simple task? Also, would I be able to work as a cardiac monitor technician at Telemetry unit or I need more education? Thanks

What education I need to work on Telemetry unit or as an EKG technician?
Thank you; it is just hard to believe that all I need is just one day of education. Also have been told that cardiologist is the one who will read the strip that I printed out.

NAHUC - did anybody recently pass HUC National certification exam?
Please, share your experience about your test, is it very scary, what did they ask, etc? Did you perform any Kardexing during test? Thank you. P.S. I wish they would have a HUC category on this website....

What education I need to work on Telemetry unit or as an EKG technician?
I just finished my Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) classes and my internship starts pretty soon. My teacher said that for having better chances to get hired, I should have other specialties on my resume, to go along with my HUC Certificate. I was considering either EKG technician or Telemetry technician. I found some places here, in MN that have either a ONE day class to become 12 lead EKG technician or 63 hours class. I just cannot understand how one day class will give me enough knowledge to be a good professional? Or maybe I am wrong, maybe one day is totally enough for learning how to place leads? But don't I need to recognize the waves and read the strip? As for telemetry technician, don't I need to read the waves the screens and recognize heat attacks? Currently, I am a Medical Interpreter for the last 7 years. I do not know what path to take, please help me.
