Commuting to CRNA school...
UAB has regional components. Those students either commute or move to Birmingham for the first 9 months. Then they go back home and do clinicals at their regional sites.

UAB anyone
Here is some info for the interview for Birmingham & montgomery (which may change this year, I don't know)..I interviewed 3 years in a row...anyways...be yourself. Try not to be too uptight. There were never any clinical questions. Mainly why do you want to be a CRNA, family issues, can you handle it. Do you have a good support system..especially if you have children. Be confident...it's hard to sell yourself but you have to do it...I hated that part. What makes you better than other applicants...that kind of stuff. I hope this helps. I also hope that it has not changed due to the change in directors this year. It's very hard to get in and extremely hard to stay in!! If you do not get in this year, keep on trying. Good luck. And to those who do get in..start studying anatomy!! That first test is a killer. edited to add: birmingham component interviews are individual one on one with the instructors.

Going to UAB on probation? Read This!

Going to UAB on probation? Read This!
Ditto on the probation thing. It's just another added stressor that you do not need. I went in on probation...was sweating it until this morning when finals for our two hardest classes were posted. if I had to do it over again, I would have definately taken the GRE/MAT over again. On that note...BAMA..aren't you supposed to be studying??!!

Samford Interviews
I wonder what criteria they use for acceptance. I am also not counting on getting into Samford. They accepted 25 last year and I'm sure about the same this year. Good luck everyone. I interview on Jan. 9th.

Samford Interviews
Good Luck Berry. I know they emailed people last year before they sent out letters. They may not do that this year because of the separate interviews

Did they say when they are going to send out letters?

Samford Interviews
I set up my interview with Samford on the 9th of Jan. I was told that 11 people would be interviewing at the same time. For those who have already interviewed..how many applicants interviewed with you? I am just curious to know how many they are interviewing in all.

No word from UAB yet. How about you? I am still waiting to hear from Samford. Hopefully will have a letter in the mail tomorrow. Anyone want to share their Samford interview experience?

Samford
Good questions. I had the same issue with my ASN program. They had a 7 point scale...oh how I wish my 90- 92% B's were A's now. I also heard through the grape vine that UAB is going to be sending invites out sooner than previously thought. The waiting is excruciating!! :rotfl:

Did you get an early interview? I am not a student but applied and interviewed last year. The interview was not too bad. Questions were about what my references said and why I wanted to be a CRNA, etc. The clinicals are in different locations through out the state. Lots of traveling. I was also 9 months pg last year when I interviewed. I am trying again this year but did not get everything in for the early interview deadline.
