  1. Has anyone received a new student guide yet? was it suppose to arrive by email or mail..
  2. is anyone looking for a roommate? any clues about good housing ?
  3. I just turned down my offer from Texas A&M's nursing school after attending open house for UTMB yesterday. I was so impressed with the program and faculty that the choice became obvious. Excited to start in May!
  4. I'm still undecided as to whether I will accept or decline UTMB.. I got accepted into Texas A&M but wow, after talking to my interviewer and hearing all the amazing things UTMB has to offer I'm really reconsidering my decision to attend Texas A&M. I would check with previous forums to figure out the question about the check. If you paid the deposit though, you should be fine! Congrats again.
  5. Congratulations!!! You must be very proud and happy!
  6. I've been accepted! Check mystar. The green circle turns into a green check with a decline/accept.
  7. My interview was awesome! I'm usually really stiff during interviews and say a lot of "um" and "likes" cause I'm nervous but the interviewer was super relaxed and friendly so I loosened up and had a great talk with her. Some of the questions were: Tell me about yourself What is the most important part of your personal statement Do you have any other obligations outside nursing school How will you change your study habits to compliment the rigorous program What do you like to do in your down time Who is your support network There were a few others as well, but I don't remember them because I didn't have to think too hard to answer them, so they must have been easy questions. She also told me about a lot of things UTMB has to offer over Texas A&M because I was already accepted into that school, and I"m seriously considering choosing UMTB over A&M now! At the end of the interview, she told me informally that she was nearly 100% sure I would be accepted into the program, so that's great. I'm just debating which school I really think would be a good fit now!
  8. So a bit off topic but does anyone know of any cheap apartments in the round rock area or know of anyone who needs a roommate/has an available sublease?
  9. Okay I think I made it correctly this time so everyone can access it. https://www.facebook.com/groups/tamuhscsdbsn16/
  10. I graduated this spring from TAMU. My overall GPA is a 3.67 and my science GPA was about the same. I honestly submitted the application on a whim, because I didn't think I would be a competitive applicant. I was wait-listed for the traditional track and eventually was admitted for the fall 2015 traditional track, but I wasn't able to attend at the time. I'm super pumped to be able to attend and so surprised I got an admit!
  11. Hey all.. I just got accepted into Texas A&M's nursing school. Good luck to you all with UTMB!
  12. I received that email September 21st. Today I got an email asking me to send an unofficial copy of my last transcript, which I forgot to send because it was only one course and not a prerequisite. So I guess they must be looking at applications currently.
  13. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't have that problem. The process for me was super quick and was done within 5 minutes.
  14. what do you mean by your fingerprints being rejected?
  15. It's probably not necessary, but I included my personal statement in both.
  16. Could you consider subleasing? I would think the majority of people applying want to be in the college station campus so that they can be closer to student life and the main campus etc. I personally applied for the round rock campus as well. I need a change of scenery, personally.
  17. Congrats! Would you mind sharing your stats so the rest of us know where we stand?
  18. It took me about 3 days to receive my mystar emails.
  19. Perhaps the admission committee is sending out acceptances in waves? Like they just sent out their top choices for admits and sometime after october 7th they will send out more offers?
  20. Also, nursingcas was a headache for me when I first applied. They messed up a portion of my transcript, attributing courses to the wrong schools and entering the wrong campuses etc. They also kept sending my application back to me for tweeking and it slowed down the process considerably. Not to mention that whenever I would call, their system was overloaded with calls and they would just say to call back later or I would be 8th in line lol. FINALLY after submitting it without any problems, a month and a half had passes so I called and pretty much begged them to verify it soon. They did within the week after calling, but wow it was stressful.. It was verified just two weeks before the deadline and I was hoping to be finished with the application much earlier than that.
  21. I got my mystar account information today and an email saying that my application is complete and that I should be anticipating an interview request via email over the next few weeks. I read on previous forums that the admission committee meets every second monday, so we'll see! So for the timeline: Submitted my nursingcas application Nursingcas application was verified in 3-4 weeks The very next day after it was verified, I received the supplemental application via email Three days after submitting the supplemental application, I received my mystar account info Now I wait for an interview invitation!
  22. Sure I will! I'm curious as well... Besides, it's anonymous. Overall : 3.67 Science : 3.7 TEASV : 86
