  1. No. I've called, emailed, and even stopped by in the last 3 weeks to get in touch with those in charge due to getting my tb tests in April- instead of May. After no luck, I called the Dean of Nursing's office and spoke to the secretary who told me that the Nursing office just needs to approve it and, if I don't hear from that office by next monday, to call the dean's office again. Since then, still no word or acknowledgement of my messages and the tb info is due next weekend according to the info on Cert. prof. It's a little frustrating that no one returns my calls and I'll probably have to call the Dean's office again.
  2. Allegheny Day students didn't get to pick their schedules either. You go in and they are printed off for you already. We signed off on them, signed a change of major/program form, and bought some scrubs. Other than sharing why we want to become nurses, that was the gist of registration. On a side note, I have been trying to get in touch with Mrs. Bey about a requirement on Certified profile and have had no such luck in reaching her at all. Anyone else having this issue?
  3. You get whatever is left available. So if there are a lot of people above you with your first choice as their first choice, they get the seats first.
  4. I received my tentative acceptance letter on Friday!!! I got Allegheny Day! I wasn't able to post due to moving and not having my computer set up. Did anyone else hear from the Nursing program?
  5. Thank you for letting us know!!!!!!
  6. I know some students currently in the program. We should hear back before the end of the month. I think only once in the past have they gone until May, which I am hoping they do not do because I will need to apply for a ptk scholarship before may 2nd. I hope next week is the week we all get our letter!
  7. Same here. I keep checking the mailbox and it's always empty :S
  8. Has anyone heard from the program yet????
  9. Haven't heard anything yet but hopefully will soon. I've looked at a few of the old forums( for when people applied for last fall) and noticed a ton of people got their letters on the 18th of April. I'm hoping we get ours sooner than that
  10. I looked at some of the old forums and it seems that most people don't get their letter of acceptance or denial until about the 18th of April. I'm hoping we get ours sooner than that....all this waiting makes me impatient!
  11. I , too, personally put my application in at the Allegheny campus and received a confirmation email. I wonder if the emails are sent out to everyone at the same time because I've received confirmation more than once and so have a few of my classmates and the emails are generic. What GPA does everyone have here?
  12. I've applied to Nursing school and I'm a little worried. In 2012, I was charged with a summary charge of Disorderly Conduct ( Other charges were dropped and I had them expunged last year.) The Summary of DC can be expunged in 2017 but I'm worried about 2 things: 1) That, for whatever reason, the expunged non convictions will somehow still show up and 2) That I will be denied for the DC, even though it isn't on the prohibited offense list. I plan on being honest and typing a letter to the dean of the nursing school because I don't want to set a tone of distrust. I want it to be known that I did take ( and still taking) responsibilities for my actions. Still, I know how judgemental people can be and how strict these programs are so I'm a little nervous that I will be denied for a small incursion on my record. To ease some of the worry, I did a background check( Not the finger print one) on myself and was relieved that only the DC showed up. However, I still worry. I can't seem to help it. Any advice?
  13. I officially put my application in on Thursday Now, the waiting begins!
  14. The application has been posted online here: https://www.ccac.edu/Nursing_Admissions.aspx
  15. One way or another I will get my hands on that application and forward the source here for you guys :) Hopefully it definitely goes up the day the email states. @LadyWinter, if I do not get in, I will be going towards another program of choice at that point. But I do hope that if I don't get in, that at least some of you do
  16. Hey Guys, I received this email earlier yesterday. "Information and applications for the Nursing Program will be available at www.ccac.edu on January 15th. Shelby M. Echard Senior Secretary Office of Academic Affairs Boyce Campus, N-469 724-325-6718 [email protected]"
  17. At the beginning of December, I was told that the application would be online as well. However, it still isn't posted. I've emailed the office and will be going in there this week because I haven't received a response from them and feel as though a face to face would be more effective.
  18. Is A&P 2 the only class you have left? What else will you be taking this spring?
  19. I'm doing A&P 2 this semester with the Psych 108, Math 108, and English 102. Those aside, I'll have Micro in 1st Summer. Those are the only classes I currently don't have done. All my pre-requisites and most of the non nursing are done. I know others have more done, however, if they are going by mostly gpa, I would be fine since mine is really high. However, there's so much conflicting information with the school, so I guess there isn't a 100% of anything. I'm looking at doing Allegheny Day. I would have picked Boyce, however I did hear from several students firsthand that it is one of the least liked campuses for Nursing. I've also heard this from several advisors and staff.
  20. That makes me nervous as well. With the added bonus, my gpa is 4.4, I believe, and I'm still worried that it won't be enough. I have A&P 1 done and I am finishing all my non nursing classes this spring, so I'm worried that will affect it since others have all of them done already.
  21. I am applying this spring for Fall 2015 Nursing Program. While employment and awards aren't really considered, the nursing section of the websites states that academic achievement and related accomplishments will be used as second consideration to the GPA. This was as of last week when I read over the information once more. As for GPA, the online information still lists the old GPA standard. However, several nursing friends at CCAC suggested that above 3.5 ( Especially a 3.7 or higher) would really help. Where is your GPA currently sitting? The Nursing application will lists the locations and you will be able to pick your first and second choice. Speaking of which, the Nursing office at Allegheny campus told me the applications were online this year. However, they have yet to be posted so I will be stopping in there during the first week of class to find out for sure. ( I doubt anyone wants me harassing them during the holidays lol)
