Anyone interviewing for St Joseph in Orange Mother Baby Clinical 1 RN?
Thank you! The interview consists of you, the manager, and a person from HR. Both ask questions. 1. work history 2. what do you know about st joseph? go into the deep history and st joes values (dignity, excellence, service, ect) why mother baby? really basic questions. 3. a few clinical questions ( which patient would you see first) ( what would you do if you heard an IV alarm go off) congrats on the interview! I'm actually working at a hospital with one of the new grads who interviewed with me for the st jo position :) The manager is intimidating so do your best to keep a game face on. She wants nurses who practice evidence based practiced and are members of professional groups ( think AWONN) You have to pay for parking also it is $5! Good luck!!! It's a privilege to interview at such a great hospital!!

I received this email from a professor. I was a little shocked. Opinon?
My school had the same rules enforced! We would get sent home or would have to cover tattoos and take out all ear piercings/nose. It's very strict but I can see where they are coming from.

NCLEX results, I'm freaking out
I took nclex is june 2014 and the pearson trick worked for my whole nursing class. BUT pearson changed the trick so now you have to enter your credit card number-- thats what a few of my classmates who just retook it told me at least. Hope it helps! Goodluck

Trying to get my foot in the door
Hi ! I do aesthetics part time...I went after the same certifications you did and the way I got my foot in the door is by asking to precept for the company! (for free). I was hired a few months after I started precepting. However, the botox/derm filler class alone isn't enough injectors need a lot of practice :)) Try going to new classes and networking...I had to consistently follow up before they allowed me to even precept. I wish you all the luck in your aesthetic career!

New Grad L&D RN 2014
Hi friends, After sending out over 200 resumes, 15 interviews, hiring a resume writer, and taking every possible OB/Baby certification under the sun I finally landed a new grad L&D job! I am so excited and so nervous. The facility isn't the nicest but its Joint commission approved & it's close to home and I'm just excited to dive in. I have purchased several L&D books and have began memorizing the medications and am in STABLE & Intermediate fetal monitoring. If anyone has advice on adapting to labor and delivery as a new graduate please share :)) I don't want to look silly in front of my preceptor lol. Also I want to encourage you new grads that it is possible to land a new grad L&D job but it takes time. I specifically got this job by sending resumes to the head of every mother/baby/labor/delivery unit that I previously applied to online. Thanks in advance

Anyone interviewing for St Joseph in Orange Mother Baby Clinical 1 RN?
No that was the last phase (in person) but they didn't interview a lot of people! I know! I'm from the bay area too and applied all over there. I know they hire in stockton because two of my cousins are l&d/mother baby nurses there. I know that san bernadino area will hire new grads in women's health they told me they are putting up postings every wednesday. Ya mine was the beg of december as well! I asked when the next stage of the interview is and she told me that was it and to be patient because of the holidays. It's extremely difficult to get a job here too... even with every certification for mother baby/labor and delivery for every job there are several hundred applicants . Anyways lol good luck and I'm so happy I was able to talk to two of the applicants! :))

Anyone interviewing for St Joseph in Orange Mother Baby Clinical 1 RN?
Hi! Did anyone else interview for St Jo's new grad mother/ baby position? I know the posting was only up for 4 days but I'm sure hundreds of people applied. Anyone get to the phone interview or 1 on 1? They probably can't be interviewing more than 15 people in person right? I feel like my interview was a poor reflection of my personality and nursing skills! I feel like I could have done much better and was extremely nervous! It is my dream to work at St. Jo's and this was my last chance to apply to a new grad position because I have been out of school for 6 months now as well as already applied to their last new grad position and was able to get through the entire interview process, however, I was not offered the job ! I'm hoping this time I get better news! Good luck ladies!

No rn new graduate jobs in orange county 2014
I GRADUATED IN MAY 2014 WITH MY BSN IN NURSING FROM A WELL KNOWN SCHOOL. I PASSED BOARDS IN JUNE AND BEGAN TO BUILD MY RESUME BY TAKING CLASSES SUCH AS ACLS, NRP, AWONN, MAB, ECT. I HIRED A RESUME WRITER. I HAVE APPLIED T OVER 200 JOBS AND HAD 8 INTERVIEWS, ONLY ONE ENDED IN AN OFFER. I AM WORKING PART TIME 1X A WEEK IN A MEDICAL CLINIC, HOWEVER MY GOAL IS TO BECOME A WOMENS HEALTH NURSE. IVE HAD 4 INTERVIEWS FOR WOMENS HEALTH POSITIONS AND MADE IT INTO THE TOP 10 OUT OF HUNDREDS OF APPLICANTS. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. THERE ARE NO JOBS! ITS DEPRESSING! I SPEND ALL DAY APPLYING TO JOBS AND STILL NOTHING. I GET SO MUCH HOPE WHEN IM INVITED TO INTERVIEW AND GET DEPRESSED WHEN I FIND OUT IVE BEEN REJECTED. ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP:arghh:

New Graduate RN,BSN NO JOBS 10/15/14
Hi! I am a new graduate RN,BSN graduated 6 months ago, passed boards 5 months ago. My dream is pursue a career in women's health. I have pursued certifications in AWONN, NRP, ACLS, MAB in order to "stand out". I also spent over 300 hours precepting in different women's health areas. I thought this would set me apart but the new graduate system in southern california is no joke. I have applied to over 200 jobs in a variety of settings. I hired a professional resume writer. I have had 8 interviews and shortly worked in psych before resigning to pursue a career in women's health... I am running out of things to do! Only half my graduating class has been hired in hospitals and I'm getting depressed not working. Any advice would be awesome...yes I have applied in all areas of nursing not just women's health.
