That is precisely why I asked the question. I wanted to perhaps hear from someone that either got a lousy score and is now a great nurse after passing the NCLEX or someone who took the test, did well, but can say that it wasn't "that" factor that made them a successful student. This post is categorized in TEAS Help now, not success stories so we probably won't get that answer.

So Arizona is the only school with an MEPN program that leads to an MS-RN title/license. Let's face it... MS-RN is a very silly way to name this. It has already caused all kinds of confusion for me when it comes to talking with others. If they just official called it an MSN-RN, life would be easier for everyone. I am sure that there is some legal/technical reason as to why they can't do that but that doesn't make it any better! Questions: ** What are they telling you to do when you are applying for another program that requires a BSN? I ask because one place already told me that I needed a BSN and an MS-RN won't work. That could be a part of confusion but it is still the decision. ** Are they still saying that you can't claim to have an MSN, meaning a Master's of Science in Nursing, even though you do? Is it really that bad (or illegal) to call this thing an MSN-RN on a resume? (You could just call it a typo if they ask right? ) ** Are grads getting jobs? Any AZ MEPN STUDENTS OR ALUMNI please give your two cents! Thanks!!

Well with good GPA(s), you will be competitive when it comes to admissions at any school. I wish you the best! I am 20 years out of high school and I wasn't good at math and science back then. Scoring in the 90's for me is not a reasonable hope. I would do my first backflip if I could take it tomorrow and score even an 82. I am looking forward to hearing from the grads!

Hello everyone. First of all, I am not looking for TEAS help! I am currently focusing on schools/accelerated BSN programs that don't require a TEAS score. There are enough out there so this isn't the worst thing. However, there is a school right down the road from me that costs two-thirds less than others. This school requires the TEAS and IT IS WORTH 60 PERCENT YOUR ADMISSION SCORE!!! I have been looking at my guide book, taken a few excerpt quizzes and read tons of forum posts. I know that this test is going to give me plenty of trouble. I will take it but I know what I am facing. Again, my question here is not how to study for this test. I have read all of the tips and I have nine months to study before I have to apply anywhere (most accelerated BSN programs start in the summer). My actual question is: Do you agree with the idea that a good TEAS score represents the ability to earn a BSN? Did you score poorly on the TEAS and earn your BSN? Did you get a great score but disagree with the idea that the TEAS is a solid indicator of success? Do you agree that the TEAS means everything? I would love to read lots of replies from lots of different people! Thank you!

Hi there. Thanks for sharing. The bad news is that I can't take a traditional course. That isn't an option. The good news is that Stats is my final course. I have a 4.0 in prereqs and I can afford the C.

Thanks for your reply! I know you are right but my problem is that I haven't been to high school for 20 years. On top of that, I wasn't the scientific nor mathematical type in high school. I was more interested in writing stories and public speaking. I am currently involved in a profession that little to do with the content of the TEAS. So while it isn't rocket-scientific, I still don't have an advantage over a kid out of high school with no adult life experience. Am I able to learn what I am taught? The answer is yes. I am just trying to find out what the TEAS really means to people who have taken it and are either nursing now or perhaps someone that was kicked out of nursing school.

So... I know nothing about Stats. I start in exactly one month and I would like to get a head start. Tell me everything!! I am going to cut and paste all of it in a Word file and get studying. I have a 4.0 in prereqs, a 3.6 cumulative (3.8 last 60 credits) and I am extremely focused on becoming a nurse. Hello everyone! While I have a 4.0 in prereqs and a 3.6 cumulative, I admittedly am less sharp at others when it comes to school and have to work extremely hard for every point I earn. This is a call to all of you nursing school wizards and nursing school troopers who have done it right. I plan to be accepted somewhere for a Summer 2016 start. I will be submitting a bunch of apps to various places but my top choices will be accelerated programs at University of Arizona MEPN, Oklahoma University BSN, and UTHSC San Antonio BSN. If I may present a challenge that could certainly help me and many others, I would love to see your list of essential studying topics/areas before entering nursing school. I look forward to your replies!

Hello Ya'll! I am trying to pull off the career change of my life. I am fairly new to Texas and the South. Has anyone from Texas gone to nursing school in other states and avoided the residency issue? My guess is No but I am all about asking too many questions these days instead of one question too few. First of all, I know it isn't a common degree. An MS-RN is a Masters's of Science in general nursing. It is the degree earned at the University of Arizona that has taken place of the accelerated BSN. It is earned through the MEPN program and some refer to it as a "master's" BSN. (No that doesn't make complete sense.) I am having a very difficult time finding out what this degree means to the US Army or Northeastern University's NA program. Is there anyone currently in this Army program with an MS-RN? I really need to know if an MS-RN is a master's degree that will be accepted in place of a BSN. Hopefully someone with some experience can help!

Yes, I am sure that I will get a wide variety of experience traveling. It is all a couple of years away but want to minimize the number of surprises in the future.

Yes, I have to get at least that year in to apply for CRNA in the Army. If I don't get into the ARMY, I am stuck travel nursing on the East Coast, the West Coast, and maybe Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. Damn.

Hello! I know that they suggest not to work during school. I am would love some feedback on how close to the truth it is that you will be far too busy to have any sort of employment. I am prepared to work like crazy but I am wondering how unreasonable it is to at least consider a Saturday job or something!

Yes, I am highly interested in travel nursing. I wish I knew more about it and how solid of a career it is but I have a lot I need to do before that.

Thank you for all of your information. For my lifestyle, you help me solidify the fact that I am on the right path. Three 12's is perfect for me and four 10's isn't bad. I will go after the higher salary and what I am most interested first. If I fall short, meaning I remain an RN and do not reach CRNA, I make the best out of the dynamics that come with that.
