  1. It's never to late too improve your GPA. I found out the hard way the first time around when I applied to a BSN program that I was not a competitive candidate. I turned that around into something positive and motivated myself to retake all the core science prerequisites I had previously received "C's" in and got an A, which increased my GPA tremendously. It took a little bit of time, but it was worth the hard work. I applied to a few entry-level MSN programs, and was accepted to most :) Best of luck to you!
  2. Hi everyone! Stumbled upon this forum as I was searching for another forum, but I'm a current CNL student at USF, graduating in the Summer. Wanted to give some pointers on the waiting process as best as I remember. I also had applied for the Summer 2015 program and received a call towards the end of March. A little "trick" that a few of us discovered was to check our application status and as long as it said "Submitted-to be reviewed after deadline", we were still in the game vs the "Submitted" disappearing and in place showing "Decision available", which was indicative of denied acceptance. Best of luck to all of you and keep your heads up :)
  3. April 3rd is our final day
  4. Hi Jessers! I would look into WesternU, USD, CSUN has an accelerated BSN progam, APU, CSULA has a great program. I was accepted to Western and rescinded my spot to attend USF. Aside from finishing up my undergrad, I work as a medical scribe in the ED, and I think it's greatest decision I've made. I've gained so much exposure working with providers, which I think might make the medical terminology aspect of nursing school effortless for me. That's one thing I would recommend, because I know USF loves to see community involvement. I have a lot of volunteer experience and I think the one thing that stood out was that I'm doing my undergrad in Health Admin, so I've learned a lot about leadership and been a part of several community leadership events. I know they value community involvement, because my cumulative GPA isn't nearly as close to 3.9. These are just a few suggestions/ideas, but I'd strongly recommend looking into the medical scribe position! I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors :)
