  1. This dilemma depends heavily on your location. And the culture of nursing in your area. I live in a rural area where it is basically impossible for a seasoned LPN to get a job in any location. They are not utilized at all in the hospital where I am employed. It is unfortunate, but in certain areas the LPN position is being phased out. I would recommend contacting unit managers of areas that you are interested in, to see if LPN's are hireable. Good luck!
  2. I'd check thyroid for sure. Assess substance use, anxiety, and depression. Check bmp d/t history and med list. That's what comes to mind for me.
  3. Enjoy the break while you have! If you spend time on anything review cranial nerves, reflexes and what they asses, as well as generalized assessments. Know the correct anatomy terms. Look at stuff like eyes and ears and their anatomy. Learn your nursing basics well.... I know I had a pharm and patho class right out of the gate. I'm at the half way mark now, and typically review guidelines on diseases and preventative care in my spare time. Good luck!
