Reno Tahoe Pacific HELP~!
I understand there are several travelers at both campuses at Reno Tahoe Pacific at their LTAC centers. Can I hear from both the current and former travelers who have been there? I understand the patient acuity runs from one end of the spectrum (a walky-talky patient with a chronic MRSA wound who is ambulatory and requires a wound vac change and an IV antibiotic, to the Vented pt with a trach and PEG, clear to a septic patient with an ART line, on drips that you are titrating, etc. Was told though that assignments are based on the acuity of the patient, so on some days I could have 5 pt's, and on others only 3. How have your experiences been with this facility (both campuses). Would you renew your contract? Would you ever return? What questions would you have asked before you started that perhaps you didn't ask? Finally, do they require PBDS or other tests during orientation? (Forgot to ask this one during the phone interview). Thank you

Fingerprinting Problems-what to do
I got a letter from the Nevada State Board. They returned my fingerprints saying that the FBI rejected them due to poor quality. I had these prints done at a police station in my local town. WHERE can I possibly go to get quality finger printing done, if not a police station? ! ? !

I also did a search on that site to see if they had previously discussed travel companies in Reno -nothing showed up. I'm hoping someone out there will respond soon.... Does anyone know what Travel Companies currently have travelers in RENO?????

RENO-what Travel Nurse Companies already there?
What travel companies are already in the Reno/Sparks area? I plan to begin a travel nurse career (looking for a place to settle down at) in January. The #1 place I think I would want to settle down is Reno, so I am going there first. I don't want to spend alot of time filling out applications and skills checklists with various travel companies only to find out that they don't even have a contract with any hospital in the Reno area. I'd rather find out who already has travelers in that area, and then fill out the applications and skills checklists for those specific companies. Can anyone help me?

LAPTOP-do I need one or keep my desktop pc?
I will be taking my first assignment in a few months. Do I need to invest in a laptop? I don't plan to get phone service at the apartments(s) but was thinking that they would be equipped with DSL or cable hookup. (I currently don't have that offered to me at home out here in the country). But do they make you sign a contract to get hooked up? If so, is it easier to just get a laptop? But if I get a laptop, what about my fax machine? I do have one but of course it won't work without a phone connection. So how do you all do the fax part of things? Do you find you need to fax things frequently to prospective employers/travel companies? Thank you for any pearls of wisdom you can offer.

RENO/what travel companies already there?
What travel companies are already sending RN's to Reno, NV? I am planning to take my first assignment in Reno in February. To save time in filling out applications/skills checklists with various companies, only to find they are not already contracted there, I thought I would try to find out what companies are already there. Also any pearls of wisdom regarding your experience in Reno as a traveler? The hospitals, the area itself and how well you liked the experience. Thank you
