ADN-MSN-NP
Thank you for the reply. Maybe I wasn't clear when I meanioned USC lol. I mentioned that it was $1,800/unit so that's something I just won't pay for. I just like the structure of the program. I do know the hospital that I work at will pay $3000/yr torward education. ASU has a an online bridge from RN-BSN for around 10K. This may be the best option for me. P.S. I feel that I have been misled by counselors so many times before I'm trying to gain as much info as possible before I meet with one.

Best Practices for Preparing for Nursing School
First of all congrats! That exciting news for sure. I am a current NS prepairing to graduate this December. Nursing school can be grueling at times, my best advice to you would be to enjoy your time before you start, buy all your materials. I.e. Books, stethoscope, sheers, penlight (one that connects to you badge is always nice to have incase you forget yours or the battery goes out. Read the literature required by your instructor and READ AHEAD. After you get in the groove of thing you can determine your strong and weak points and buy supplemental books to fit what needs you best. One of the best things I do for myself is lay out everything that I need the night before I need to be in class/clinicals. This assures that I will be on time with all materials needed. Congrats and good luck

Currently ADN, should I have gone for BSN?
Be proud that you are in a program. I am a CNA at a hospital in SoCal and my manager always tells me to remind her when I'm done with the program so she can hire me as an RN. If you already have a hospital job your chances of getting hired quickly are better than someone outside of the hospital applying with a BSN. Once I have a job there as an RN they will pay for a portion of my BSN. I am paying for my ADN out of pocket at $1100 a year. Therefore graduating without any debt. In my opinion it's smarter to got RN-BSN or RN-MSN. Good luck and keep working hard.

Lattc rn spring 2018 acceptance
Hi, I am graduating from the ADN program at LATTC this December. The 1st semester is only difficult because it's a total culture shock for some. We had about 5 students out of 42 drop out the first semester. A couple failed and the others decided nursing just wasn't for them. I would say third semester is the most difficult. We lost about 25 students in third.

Failing
This is such a late reply but I would like to update you guys on the outcome of that original situation. I did end up having to repeat the course. I did really well only because I remembered so many of the bogus questions from before. (She reused questions maybe even the whole test)z I actually purposely answered the wrong way a few times because I remember arguing about the answer with the professor about it the first time around. For example one of the questions was about why would an IV pump alarms sound. A. Occlusion above Pump B. Occlusions in Pump C. Occlusions below Pump. I work in a hospital and 90% of the time when the IV pump alarm sounds, the pump says "occlusion on patient side". So the first time around I chose "occlusion below Pump. I got the answer wrong so purposely chose an answer that I knew was not correct but right to the professor. My original class started out with 42 people and 8 graduated together with a total graduating class of 12 (people that got held back for one reason or another). It just so happened that the BRN what making their rounds at the nursing schools the following semester and that instructor has sense been releaved of her lecture duties and is strictly an instructor for simulation. The graduating class for this winter is over 45 students.

ADN-MSN-NP
Hello All, I will be graduating this December from LATTC with my ADN. I would like to attend an online program that is ADN to MSN NP with onsite clinicals. I know that USC offers this but it's $1,800 per unit. Does anyone have any path or university recommendations? I am considering doing RN-MSN in education then working for 2 years on the floor then applying for a NP program. I have been doing a lot of research but still not sure if that path even makes sense. Any information is appreciated.

Failing
Hello All, I am in my third semester of an RN program at a community college in California. Currently we are taking Intermediate MedSurge (an 8 week course, 40 question quiz every Monday at 7am, a 60 question midterm and a 100 question final 6 of our classmates are repeating the course because they were unsuccessfully in passing the first time. All except one of them and 4 others are passing. This instructor usually gives 11-15 extra credit points and passes about 50% of her class. She is giving us only 5 extra credit points (because her last class cheated on a test or something like that). I'm just curious (especially because I am not passing and we are about to take the final) is this normal?
