Tell me what your facility is doing to become more recovery oriented? Here is what we are implementing: Staff is to keep their keys in their pockets and off of their badges. Patients are to be invited individually to group/meals/etc instead of staff announcing in a loud voice. Decrease the amount of chit chat between staff - hoping this gets staff engaged with the patients. We are changing the language that is used. For example, instead of techs we are referring to them as counselors. It has a less institutional sound to it. I am facilitating a Trauma Informed Recovery Oriented class to enhance the staff's knowledge of recovery and how we treat mental illness. I am curious to hear what others are doing?
