  1. I've been a BSN for 6 months now working in L&D. Our census at work has been low lately and we're over staffed, so management has been telling people to stay home or sending them home early anywhere from 1-3 shifts per week. Luckily, orientees are the last to be sent home, so I have only been "opted" twice. I'm finishing up orientation in a couple weeks, and I'm worried I won't get the hours I need to pay the bills. Is this a normal thing for most L&D departments? Our hospital usually does around 200-250 births a month, but lately it's been under 200.
  2. 1. Public hospital that does around 200 births/month 2. About 6 months 3. AWHONN Intermediate EFM class, Perinatal Bootcamp which is 6 days learning about complications, EFM, labor support, NRP, breastfeeding, infant behavior, perinatal loss, infant abduction and many other topics. 4. Can't work triage for 2 years.

Since I can't count on getting my hours, I'm wondering what kind of other nursing jobs will hire a new grad part time ?
  4. I just got my acceptance email! Good luck guys!
  5. Still nothing here! Arg! I'm dying to know!!!
  6. I applied to the absn program and can't wait to find out! Still no emails and nothing in the mail today. I'm pretty much in the exact same boat as the original poster. I'm from Norman, and I'm completing Physiology this semester. I'm signed up for Anatomy and Mbio for the spring. Has anyone received any news today?
