  1. Hey guys just wanted to give you an update on what our schedule looks like now that we have started the program: Monday - Health Assessment Lecture (8-9) however you will be assigned either a 9:15 or 11:15 lab time following class that will last 2 hours. Tuesday - Adult Health Care I Lecture 1 (8-12). Care Lab will follow immediately after class from 1-4; however, you will be watching videos related to your lab that day from 12-1. Food is permitted during this time so this is also your "lunch break." **This lab will only last until clinical's start about 6 weeks into the program. Wednesday - Pharmacotherapeutics (9-12) and Pathophysiology (1-4) Clinical Information: Clinicals begin mid February. You will be assigned a clinical either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday lasting from 6:30 am - 4:30 pm. No night shifts during this semester. You do have about a 24 hour grace period to switch your clinical assignment (for whatever reason) as long as you find a classmate that is also willing to swap. Best of luck!
  2. No problem, good luck!!
  3. They took away the essay and interview portion of the application back in 2010 I believe due to too many applicants.
  4. Hey guys so we haven't actually started yet but we will start the second week of January. Based on what we have been told and our current schedules we will be in class 3 days a week and once we begin clinicals (late February) we could have them either Thursday or Friday (maybe even Saturday? Not 100% sure) depending on what day we are assigned. Those will be from 6:30 am - 4:30 pm. Yay for 10 hr. Clinicals😊 So our schedule looks a little like this: Monday - Health Assessment Lecture (8-9) however we will get assigned a lab time in addition that will last 3 hrs. And that can range anywhere from (9:30-1:30) again, depending on what time you are assigned. Tuesday - Adult Health Care I Lecture 1 (8-12). **Some upperclassmen have mentioned that there is a Lab component from 12-4 however, once clinicals begin it will only be from 8-12 as the lab was meant to prepare us for clinicals. This isn't on our schedules so I'm not sure if it will be added on later? Or if our schedules have changed? Wednesday - Pharmacology (9-12) and Pathophysiology (1-4) Like I said, we haven't started yet so this information may or may not be totally correct. You may want to check back for a thread or facebook group to the previous year of the semester of which you are applying to. I know in my case, I found a lot of helpful tips from the Spring 2014 page. Good luck guys!
  5. Yay! Congratulations.
  6. Geez I'm so sorry yall have had to wait this long. I don't understand why they keep beating around the bush and can't just tell you your admission status to give you some peace of mind.
  7. That is so strange because they have definitely used a waitlist for many semesters now. Sometimes their relay of information is very confusing. Same goes for when you call by phone, different people give different answers and it is sometimes very misleading. Sending positive vibes out to everyone!
  8. This is for UThealth in Houston. I haven't heard of them not doing a wait list. To my knowledge it has been around for years, that is strange that they would have stressed that at an info. Session. Which one did you attend?
  9. I am so sorry to hear that:( Are any of you reapplying for summer semester? If so, I really hope to see you join us. For those of you who are continuing on in another program I wish you the very best of luck!
  10. Oh okay I guess that would make sense because November 15th is a little over 2 weeks out and I was told a while back that everyone would know their status change by then (well that is their goal at least) regardless of accepted/waitlist/denied
  11. Thanks so much! I hope you get some good news soon as well as anyone else who is still waiting to hear back!
  12. Hang in there guys! I heard they send them out in waves so hopefully you hear back soon
  13. I think I found it. Is there anyway we can make it a group? If not, no worries
  14. or spring 2017 (:
  15. Got mine also. Congratulations!! Now decision time
  16. Hey ckcox, If you want to open up more options then I would definitely encourage you to take the TEAS V. I also debated taking it on top of studying for the HESI but I am really glad I did. It is a completely different test. I scored pretty well on the HESI but lower on the TEAS V. I found that on the HESI you are able to eliminate answer choices pretty well in order to get the right answer where as on the TEAS I had a harder time choosing between multiple answer choices. I would highly recommend the book from ATI as they make the exam. I also found practice problems on quizlet. The science portion was the hardest for me because it covered so much material not just anatomy but chemistry, biology, and geology. Again, everyone is different this was just from my personal experience. Just find a good study guide and brush up on the sciences and you should do well! It will help that you have already taken the HESI so you will be familiar with computer exams, time management, etc.
  17. Same here. After attending one of the events at another program this past weekend, I think I am going to go ahead and move forward. If accepted to UTH then I may reconsider however I don't want to miss out on this great opportunity. Good luck guys!
  18. Are you still taking classes to complete the prerequisites?
  19. Haha yes my heart skipped about 4 beats
  20. The green circle will change to a green check mark and will say accept admission I believe you will also recieve an email😊
  21. That would've been ideal. Congrats on your acceptance to UTMB! I went ahead and secured the deposit for UTMB anyway just in case. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and really loved the personal statement/interview process.. Kind of makes you feel like more than just a GPA or test score. Both schools are great and I am really torn at this point but the move to Galveston is the biggest problem. I would love to stay here in Houston which is why UTH is a little more convenient for me. I am grateful either way however having that option to choose would be such a blessing.
  22. I know.. I'm getting so anxious! I REALLY hope we all make it.
  23. Are you referring to the BSN admission criteria page? If so, I don't think it has been updated since they did away with interviews in 2010. I'm assuming that along with the interview they once accepted essays as a part of the admissions process
  24. The first wave of acceptances for Spring 2014 went out October 14th so hopefully we will get lucky and hear back as early as next week! Good luck everyone
  25. Also, sorry for being so MIA guys. I've been following thoug just not posting much. Trying to work on patience over here and doing anything possible to keep my mind off of waiting to hear back lol. Good luck everyone hopefully it won't be much longer! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted to other programs.
