  1. Can you recall the clinical sites? I live in Fort Meade so looking for a reasonable driving distance.
  2. Achiever67, this would be a question for admissions as they will process the application
  3. Congratulations !!!!
  4. Thanks everyone! Tazolover, I received an email first. (For some odd reason my cellphone number was not on my application.) I then called my program manager as my email had instructed me to do so.
  5. Firenze25, Hang in there. I was waitlisted twice and I heard back today! So it happens, be patient!!!
  6. Little Mango and afowler, I cannot wait to meet you all. I'm going to be attending Shady Grove!
  7. Nover, I would call and ask if I were you to be sure though ...
  8. I took 125
  9. I applied to the ShadyGrove campus. I retook my TEAS test and it didn't help me so I'm not sure. I also read some people had 90 TEAS scores and were not admitted so I am assuming the application is equally weighted.
  10. In case anyone had a similar question regarding the amount of time your application can be "wait listed" I spoke with the nursing director for the BSN program, (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), and your original application cannot exceed 1 year. In my case, I was Waitlisted for the Spring of 2015 (original application applied for the Fall of 2014) and again this Fall 2015, so if I am not offered a seat this Fall, I must reapply for the Spring of 2016. If this is your situation as well the deadline for the Spring is September 2. Moving forward, I have began the process of applying and submitting applications to other schools. I will be volunteering to gain healthcare experience since I have completed my prereqs to better my résumé as well as renewing my CPR card. Again, congrats to all who will be starting nursing school!! :)
  11. Thanks Grey Lady. I will give them a call.
  12. Does anyone know how long you have to remain on the Waitlist? I was Waitlisted originally for the Fall 2014 and then again Fall 2015. Since I have been working in applications for other schools as well as again to apply for Spring 2016 for UMSON. Considering I was Waitlisted can I send in transcripts etc?
  13. Congratulations Nover!! it was so worth the wait!! I'm happy for you!!! Way to go!!
  14. I see .. You're right, that's definitely a bind to be placed in. My mom always told me, "what's meant to be, will be." Don't stress it too much as you do not know your fate yet. Instead realize that if you do not get in this time around at least you will be able to apply over the Spring as well as take those courses during the Fall to raise your GPA. What's the worst that can happen? You get told no? If so, perhaps there is something better in store for you. I was waitlisted twice and sure it got me down. It feels like a second place win but hey, I'm still here and exploring other options. Calm your nerves at least until you know your decision. And if you just can't seem to do so, I would definitely give them a call. The staff there are friendly and always have answered any question I had or pointed me in the right direction! I'm sure you'll be fine! Have a little faith! :)
  15. Nover, I hope you hear an answer back soon. I was waitlisted but having that decision has taken away the anxiety. I cannot begin to imagine what you are feeling.
  16. Finding, I do not have a definite answer to your question but I would really try hard to get those B's because if accepted, provisional, I think you will still be under a "deadline" to submit transcripts considering the entire package is looked at to include the prereqs list which would have indicated when you are to complete courses. Also, I'm not sure which courses you think you will possibly get a C in but I don't think AP2 is wise to take as just an eight week course. It's a lot of material even for 16 weeks. That's if that's one of the courses ...
  17. BlessedandHopeful, I have decided I will not let anymore time lasp because the courses somewhat "expire" (for certain school it's 5, some 7, some 10) so I will be applying for Anne Arundel Community College to get a ADN which will allow me to take the RN nursing exam and then I'll go from RN-to-BSN. I'm sitting on 88 credits so since to become a RN is the goal I'm going to get the ball rolling. I was waitlisted twice so as you said I need options !! 😊😊
  18. I did not as I only requested information to be sent to me from UMSON (last year I applied and still lived in VA however I recently moved here and applied again). As a military family we move often so if I do not get in this year I will not be reapplying. It's hard to predict if my husband will remain here (I'm no longer in the military) and it's pointless to start a program and have to worry if the military will relocate us (that space can also be used for someone else).
  19. I'm volunteering to improve my resume and I will rewrite my essay ... Congratulations !!
  20. Stiff competition ... Nice stats guys/gals !!!
  21. Hey guys! The bad news came today, I was waitlisted. Here's a glance at my application: GPA: 3.8 (since last transfer) science GPA: 3.5 TEAS: 80% 2 yrs of healthcare experience CPR cert I definitely will not put all of my eggs in one basket for the Spring. Good luck to those still waiting and a very big congratulations to those who were accepted!
  22. This is just torture ..
  23. It's nothing within the school system but I believe more so for security and safety concerns regarding the protesting that has been going on
  24. I think it has to do with the chaos going on in Baltimore which in that case I will be more patient. I hope everyone stays safe!
  25. And I'm a "W."
