  1. I agree they seem easy so far. But without a calculator I'm not the greatest dividing when there are a bunch of uneven decimal type problems. I was just hoping that I can use a basic calculator because I would in real life, so I can check it quickly and make sure I didn't make a mistake. Without a calculator some questions would take me much longer. Thank you all for your answers. I know the conversions already so I'm good with that. Just a few of the harder questions, decimals, and uneven division that I was afraid would take me too long on paper.
  2. Dosage.com is what I have been using so I am glad to know I'm starting in the right place. Thank you for the advice! I am just starting to really learn them all so I'll be ahead of the game when January comes around. I will continue to go over them everyday per your advice. Thank you!
  3. Thanks for responding. Yes I was referring to the little basic calculators. I was just worried that if I werent working with easily divisible numbers than I would take a long time to finish each question.
  4. I start my Nursing program in January and was informed that we have to get a 90 or higher on all dosage tests, the first one being a couple weeks in. I have already been practicing them just so I know them really well. I was just wondering if we can use a calculator or not? I can do it without but, obviously, it would be a LOT easier and quicker if I used one. I realize that different schools have different ways but did you get a calculator or no? Thanks in advance!
  5. And by low NCLEX pass rate I mean 60% for this year and 72% for last year.
  6. Thanks so much for your advice. I will definitely study up on my A&P. Sadly I have to go to this school. It's all I can afford and I'm almost at my max for financial aid because I started out pursuing a degree in Accounting (GAG!!). I have good grades and study hardcore so I'm hoping that will get me where I need to be. I am definitely buying the Saunders NCLEX book because everyone recommends that one.
  7. I start my Nursing (ASN) program in January. I was wondering... if you could go back, what would you brush up on/study for before your first semester? Right now I am looking over dosage formulas and a TINY bit of Pharm (because Pharm scares the crap out of me just because it is soo much to memorize). I have gotten all general ed out of the way so I have taken A&P 1 & 2 and Microbiology. Should I just brush up on those? I am a little terrified because my school (a community college) has a very low completion and NCLEX pass rate. I just want to prepare myself as much as possible. Thanks for any advice!!!
  8. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!! I start my Nursing program in January and I am so worried about Pharm!! There is just soooo much to remember and to organize! I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!
