  1. ER all the way. ER is nice because you get high acuity patients, get them stabilized, then send them to ICU/CCU or elsewhere. You do LESS dirty work/wiping butts/measuring I&O's etc... you get exposure to just about everything. You'll get more continuing education courses with it too such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRS, etc. I've been working in ER for 2 years and love, but I am starting to get burnt out. I'm looking at maybe NP school...I will say ER gives you great exposure to a lot of fast, critical thinking with labs/xrays/meds/scans etc. IT's a great area, but maybe not for long-term!
  2. Okay so I have been working on a med/surg floor and I completely hate floor nursing. Pain med after antibiotic after pain med. Bleh. My passion is fitness and wellness and I really want to incorporate fitness programs and motivate people in companies or businesses. Does anyone know how to go about this? Do you need a certification in nutrition or exercise science?
  3. Ok so I graduated in 6 months ago and have been working on a med/surg floor in Atlanta. I like the challenge but I'm just not happy. I ran cross country and track in college and love marathons and I am very passionate about fitness but I am looking to combine nursing to fitness and health. I want to help make exercise programs specialized for people with DM, CHF, and pulm. problems as well as healthy people just looking for somewhere to start. I want to be a motivator and give people the chance to make their lives something they can love and be proud of and live longer! Does anyone know how I can combine my RN degree with fitness? Even if it's within a company and coaching employees? What degree should I be looking at? I'm in Atlanta, GA! Please help!
