The first test was due last week, and the second is December 12th I believe. And from what I noticed, there was only 2 others testing for the 2nd but there could've been more that already tested. and the testing center lady had no idea about the test or how it worked so I'm assuming I was one of the first to take it, if not the first.

There wasn't actually many LPNs because there was some mix up on a lot of the applications. And the tests were actually reeeeeaaaaaallly hard. But hopefully others passed.

I wasn't assigned a cohort since I had the option of testing out. However I do know that if I didn't pass I would be in the January cohort.

Just an update: I officially tested out of the first semester for the LPNs, therefore another spot should open up for an alternate!

The only issue with using your second as a childhood one is if your titers come back negative. For example the series counts for two shots, if you come back negative for the antibody, you need the entire series again. so if you go and only get one done now, your titer may still come back as nonimmune and have to get the shot done the second time, and the titer done again. I just think it's easier to go with getting the entire series again and get the titer, that way you aren't wasting time, money, and pain of needle sticks. and if I recall in the meeting, you said your titer already came back as negative, meaning you're nonimmune and should get the entire series redone for your health benefit. Plus they won't allow you to enter until you test positive on the titers.

I've received the MMR, Hep B, and varicella series growing up. However I tested negative for all of my titers. My doctor told me I have to receive all series again, not just one. I can understand not wanting to get it done. However I'm going to get mine done. It isn't dangerous to get done twice, it just simply means that the first series didn't take. It's actual good to get, that way you are certain that you are immune to the viruses.

I agree, I very rarely use dosage calc. However I'm a semi new grad, so I still understand most, like gtt factor, IV infusions, and pediatric dosages. But I'm not sure that's everything they test on. The second test is nursing fundamentals which I would assume is close to the critical thinking part of the HESI, like knowing which patient to choose using Maslows and ABCs. I'm definitely going to try to test out, if worst comes to worst, I'm still in the program even if I fail. I see it as if you can pass NCLEX you can probably pass their nursing tests. But I definitely understand your "use it or lose it" theory.

No, when you enter as an Lpn and pass the challenge exams you'll be admitted straight into 170. If you fail or choose not to test out you'll start 108 with all other regular non-Lpn students. I believe the entire program is 5 semesters, LPNs start in semester 2. Atleast that's how I interpreted it...

It means we are accepted regardless. However we can challenge and take the exams to enter in semester two. If we chose bit to do the exam or not if we don't pass the exams, we will be admitted as a fresh RN student and begin in cohort 1 with everyone else in January.

Hey everyone. I was accepted into the LPN-RN advanced program. I was wondering if anyone else is taking that route and if they are taking the challenge exams. Really looking for someone to study with.
