  1. I applied for the direct entry FNP program. I asked them about interviews and they told me that unless they want clarification of something on your application they do not interview for this specialty. If they have questions it will just be a phone interview.
  2. Did they give any idea of when they would start making decisions of acceptance at the open house? Or any other important info they shared?
  3. For anyone else FNP specialty I asked if they interview all applicants " They will conduct a phone interview if they need clarification of something in your applicant file, otherwise, No."
  4. Has anyone heard if all specialties interview everyone? I was reading through the thread last year and some comments were talking about how not everyone gets interviewed.
  5. Hi, to anyone who was accepted FNP direct entry.. did they do interviews for everyone who was accepted last year?
  6. Only four essay questions this year not six?
  7. So clarification on official transcripts.. We can request that our schools send them to data management as early as September 15th correct? So in other words we don't have to have the application submitted before we request they be sent, but we do not have to wait for them to be received if our application is ready to submit?
  8. Thanks! Has anyone heard about amount of spots they have? I was told if you do your clinicals in Nashville there is a lesser chance of getting accepted.
  9. Do they just want a general statement of purpose in addition to the questions we have to answer? Did they tell you there are any guidelines for it?
  10. Search the Vanderbilt MSN 2017 thread and join the same way you did this one. I think hit bookmark send updates.
  11. Same, join the 2017 thread for updates from some other people as well!

  14. When sending official transcripts does anyone know if you had AP credits from high school do you have to get those from your high school or can you just send the college transcript?
  15. Thank you! I plan on it! Do you remember for the letters of reference was it just a letter from the person or did they have to fill out a specific format on the online application. Basically would I be able to ask for letters ahead of time so I know I'll have them ready to send when the application opens.
  16. Thanks for letting me know Bostons! That's good to hear, makes me feel better about them. appreciate it!!
  17. Thank you so much for the info! I have a good gpa, good experience, I've done shadowing and research but my GRE is the only thing I really want to improve. I got a 154 in quantitative and a 152 in verbal and a 4.0 in writing. Hoping I can bring them up a little.
  18. Hi everyone! I'm a nurse that's looking to apply to the direct FNP program for 2017 and I saw this thread. Congrats to everyone that got accepted!! Vanderbilt has always been where I really want to go. I was wondering if anyone that got accepted to the FNP program would mind telling me how their application looked-- gpa, gre, experience, and Extracurriculars, so I could get an idea of anything else I could be doing to increase my chances. Thanks in advance for any help!!
