Someone else on here posted some objectives for exam one being Vital Signs, Hygiene, Safety, Health Assessment, Documentation, and Nursing Process. But just the categories not specific chapters. I believe this was also from last semester and not sure which campus. My syllabus is for Smith at North Campus and states exam 1 will cover Activity and Exercise, Patient Safety, Infection Control, Hygiene, Vital Signs, Specimen Collection, and Physical Assessment. But again, no chapters listed.

Besides that, do you think we should be reading the stats book that the syllabus talked about our first assignment or any of the math stuff? Or do you think we should just wait until class and they will direct us? I'm so confused where to start but I've just been doing what you said, starting with the chapters from the Fundamentals book as a review. Hopefully they load the info on D2L we will have a little more direction

Did everyone buy the warm up jacket? I went to buy one today and they were out of smalls, the guy said that they weren't getting more in because they were no longer required. I thought they were required? Anyone know?

I believe it was $58. I ordered used for $42 but I'm pretty sure since they just got them in I ended up with the new version. I haven't opened it yet

anyone have the reading list for first semester at central? It has the objectives, etc. in the syllabus we received, but no specific chapters/pages...

I sucked up my pride and bought the rolling backpack too. It's High Sierra brand on Amazon. $66. Not the cutest thing but had good reviews and has the pockets for pens, phones, etc. plus padding in the middle for a laptop

I'm keeping my serving job Saturday and Sunday nights, I figure if I dedicate any free time Monday thru Friday at the library studying I should be able to make it working 2 nights. However, I have every intention of stopping working if I feel necessary.

@Belletifi Yeah, sorry it's been so hectic, I'm sure you all are too. And I'm working my butt off trying to save before school starts. I stayed up so late last night getting all my paperwork for wia tuesday, thanks. I did cpr at paramount this morning. Someone else on here recommended it. If anyone hasn't done it yet I highly recommend. Much cheaper than broward, $45 and you don't need a book or valve and you do get the card we need on the spot.

Yes, i bought them all. Like someone else posted, I'm not taking chances, rather be overly prepared. If anything, can always resell them. Plus, the syllabus we received in the e-mail does say we need those additional books by September 4th

Thats my issue, I ran out of Pell grants too for undergraduate. And on top of that, I'm maxed on loans as well. So sounds like the same boat. I know I qualify for income so thats good news. I plan on going on Tuesday. Thanks for the info =)

Anyone go through WIA for financial assistance? I have all the paperwork for them, and I was told to come back on Tuesday with everything to start the process. If you used them, how long did it take to actually get the vouchers and whatnot? I've paid everything out of pocket so far, and hoping to either get my Fin Aid appealed thru BC or get aid from WIA...

Hey, I'll be at central. I didn't buy the book for Pharm because I read on all the previous posts that the professor tests straight from his powerpoints so they never use the book. The Math sounded like no joke so I got the Dosage Calculations book, which I think is the only one, but I rented it on Amazon for pretty cheap since its only a short semester. Then I figure if we still need it after that you can always buy it out from Amazon. I have Smith too, and to be honest I bought all the books with the exception of the recommended ones just to be on the safe side thru Amazon. From what I've heard, all the Perry and Potter books including the study guide are important. I also heard that Davis's drug guide and the Fluid and Electrolytes book are necessary too. But yeah, I bought them all just to be covered and sell them or figure it out as we go along. Oh ya, and the handout in orientation talked about homework being due on 8/26 from the STAT book, its called like Critical Strategies, techniques, and procedures or something like that (sorry don't have it off hand). It said that it has to be a new book and we will fill in the answers and turn the book in as our homework so it has to be a new copy...hope that kinda helps..
