college ratings in niagara usa?
Well you all remember me from returning to school dilemma, now I would like to ask about any opinions on colleges in the Erie ,Niagarafalls, regions. I have met with admissions at niagara commuity college ,sanborn area. They tell me it will take 2 years to complete the associate r.n. program. I think they also have an extended program in which you can take 3 years to complete it. Is it possible to keep working while attending the 2 year or is it better to extend it into 3? Has anyone done either or and can you specify about the work-load. 0ver here in canada , the college of nurses states anyone wishing to become a nurse will have to attain a bachelors of nursing after the year 2005. I am hoping to slide under that date and complete r.n. status prior to 2005. Another question I have is has anyone trained in the u.s. then tried to be registered in canada? The college of nurses tells me if I train in the u,s. it may not be transferrable and I will have to wait until I complete the program to see if I can then work registered in canada . I THINK IT IS A BIG FARCE!!!!

returning to nusing school at 30 something
Hi, I am having a tough time with my choice to return to nusing school. I am wondering if it is worth pusuing my R.N status when I am almost 40. I have been a L.P.N. in canada for the last 6 years. We are really limited with our skills here. I work in two active medical hosp where all meds are given out by the R.N. I guess I just want to be able to give total nusing care to my patients, and in order to perform all nursing skills here you must be a R.N. I have found acouple of nursing schools on usa soil which offer 2year associate programs but I am not sure how long they will take to complete. I just wondered if any of you nurses out there had upgraded and how you found the work load between family and work obligations. AM I to old to consider this option? I welcome your opinions.

up grade dilemma in canada
Hi everyone I am hoping someone can suggest an option. You see I have been a L>P>N> in niagara falls canada for the past 6 years. I would really like to upgrade to R.N. status nhowever, because of family commitments I could only attend on a part-time basis, unfortunately my side of the border offers no such program. Any ideas of any colleges or schools which offer a up-grade option part-time? I look forward to a reply, carmen
