IV Rate Problems!
I cannot figure out how to complete this medication calculation problem! How do you complete these types of problems? I am in nursing school and have a quiz over these types of problems and want to know how to do these. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Problem: You are taking care of a 12 year old with a skin infection following a bicycle accident. You have orders to give Ceftriaxone IV 1,000mg every 12 hours. When in the medication room you note that Ceftriaxone 1,000mg has been dispensed by pharmacy and diluted in a 125mL bag. What do you need to set your rate on the IV pump to run this antibiotic over 30 minutes?

St. Luke's College of Nursing
Hello! I am new to this website and have been reading a lot of threads about nursing school. The reason why I am writing this is because I need some guidance and advice. I am a fourth year student at a university in Kansas. My dream was to be in the nursing program here, but unfortenetly that will not happen. I don't know why I was never accepted, but I applied two different times and was placed on the wait- list both times. I have taken the TEAS test, have a good GPA, taken every pre-req course (plus some) and re-took a few to get a better grade. I have also taken every nursing elective offered, am licensed as a CNA in both Kansas and Missouri, have worked as a CNA and a volunteer at a hospital in Kansas City. This past summer, I applied to five different nursing schools around the Kansas City area. Over the past few months, I have been getting nothing but bad news. I was declined from two schools because I have not taken courses that are required for their program (which are not required at my current school, but am taking them currently), invited to two different interviews and placed on the stand- by list at one of the schools. The three remaining schools, Baker (was not placed on wait- list after interview), Crowder (placed on stand- by after interview) and St. Luke's. I am close to the top of the stand- by list at St. Luke's. Does anybody know about how many students are accepted after they have been placed on the list? I emailed admissions about a week ago, but wanted to know if anybody has been in this situation. This semester has been very hard for me because I do not know what I am going to do next semester if I am not accepted. I won't be able to graduate from my current university until earliest next December because I had to switch majors and it completely through off my credit hours. I have looked into different career options in the medical field, but nothing really stands out to me, but I am open to options if anybody has any. Thank you

Saint Luke's College of Health Sciences - Kansas City
Hello! I know this is a thread from a few years ago, but I thought I would ask a question! I have applied to many nursing schools around the Kansas City area and have been placed on the waiting list for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I am on the stand- by list for St. Luke's for the Spring 2015 BSN Class. I do not want to say what number I am, but am close to the top! From past experience, does anyone know about how many are accepted from the list. I literally check my phone every 10 minutes to see if I have received a call from them and the wait is killing me. Being a student as St. Luke's is a dream of mine and I hope I get accepted. Thank you!
